@Juhius: the intention behind the new update was to fix the endgame lag. Unfortunately, PDX have to released in a unfinished state. Something to do with the Holidays... :steamfacepalm:

Yeah... I finally got around to testing the 4.* patch and the new dlc
I'll have to wait a while. I am not touching the game in the current state. I'm pretty sure the mod is busted for the newest version, but the newest version of the game seems to be busted anyways, so no real loss there. I thought the game was in a decent state so I don't get why they had to mangle it like this.

Yes, unfortunately I have been busy with certain personal problems and responsibilities... and school work. I am planning on updating this *and* doing more Stellaris modding. I should have the time starting next week, but no promises. I'm pretty sure the mod should work as is though.

I am not sure how much crime would work by default, but now that you have a baseline system for converting amenities to trade value, you could possibly introduce a variety of amenity conversion buildings with different drawbacks (and some could be stronger with more drawbacks), to prevent the resource scaling from getting out of control these could be mutually exclusive. 1 example could be luxury restaurants that increase the food upkeep of the planet (in exchange for trade value).

I really dig Ahmet's suggestion to make unused amenities cause just a pinch of crime, could be a simple & flavorful way to balance

Man I wish this worked with Rogue Servitors, My main faction I play is the Galactic Resort (Name pending) which is a gestalt AI empire that used to be a theme park. Beware the power of space Disney!!

Do you think you could add events around the tourism idea ^-^? Could be based on the different species that are parts of your empire, their ethic influencing the way they act, like s xenophobe tourism making a scene with options on how to handle the situation, etc ^-^.

Do you think you could make a special variant of Xenotourism for Criminal Heritage Megacorps. Like a luxury hotel that is used for building trust (poorly founded at that) and secretly used to gather information.

Crime was originally meant to be the downside of tourism, and it's still on the table

Balancing the mod was and is the biggest struggle due to how out of the box it is, as amenities are fairly niche thing in the base game. There is 0 reason to optimize amenity productions on this scale in vanilla. I do like how powerful it can become, but you need to invest heavily into it so I feel unsure about nerfing it, even though I initially was worried about how powerful it was.

It could be worth experimenting with at some point.

i love the idea, but i think in some situations it is too op. with warrior culture you can gain 4 unity, 4 naval cap, 5 trade value(20 amenities) per duelist, with 10 lvl concil position for duelist output. this is most powerful i found but some other broken builds can be found. i am not saying make incompatible with warrior culture, it is very enjoyable build. but maybe you can add some(0.15 would be best i think) crime per unused amenities, with that some builds with lots of crime reduction wouldnt be felt bad :D.

MegaCorp with the 'secretly evil' ethics vibe is my most played. I second the request to add random events, both serious (relations scandal for something) and comical (free pool floats).

As to events or other further developments, I find it unlikely that I'd be adding anything new anytime soon. I'm fairly happy with it being as is.

This seems like a really cool idea, I'm looking forward to playing with it. Do you have or intend to add any events related to the hotels? Such as a crime bust, or a foreign diplomat involved in a scandal or assassinated there?

God, I love the concept of this so much. As others have said, it makes resort worlds more useful, but I also think this is amazing for RP. If there's one way for a Megacorp to reach dominion, its probably through satisfying desires right?

this makes resort worlds so useful! I love how it incentives cultural buildings and amenity generation (holo-theaters etc) for mega-corps since you can basically do without them in vanilla. Helps to flesh out a more diplomatic soft power build for MCs too!

Always wanted a mod where the aliens would come and visit. Just imagine a world where there was a push and pull factor and the aliens made energy and perhaps some intel bleed.

I doubt the game can do this but it would be cool.
