Awesome Campaign. In my top 3 no doubt! Thanks pbalfe for all the work that went into it.

Thanks Shells. Appreciate the feedback. The spawning is there on certain floors as they are literally infected by bad guys so it makes no sense to me to be able to rest and not face some consequences. It is random though so you may have just had bad luck. On the resting when you level up - yeah I am coming round to that idea. On one hand I thought it crazy from a story pov to have a resting area just randomly placed at entrances for now reason. And I did make sure to have a rest area on each level that you level up on, but I'll have a think how to do it better

Steam version is indeed up-to-date. Let me know how you get on. Level 10 was one of my favourites to design
Mr.Frost 17 Jul @ 8:28pm
(we just got to dungeon level 10 tonight, so enjoying it :) )
Mr.Frost 17 Jul @ 8:28pm
Is the steam version the most up-to-date version? I see a newer (by date) version on Nexus, but is it the same as this one just took longer to go upload it? :)
pbalfe  [author] 15 Jul @ 11:08am
That is updated by the way on Nexus
pbalfe  [author] 11 Jul @ 1:25am
Ah ok! Let me update that today for you
GuardianBoD 9 Jul @ 1:16pm
I found your mod on nexus, and I am uncertain, if I could continue my save when changing to steam
pbalfe  [author] 9 Jul @ 11:59am
Thanks GuardianBoD: I removed those options in the last patch - have you updated to that version?
GuardianBoD 8 Jul @ 10:27am
Edit: the basic training with professor brink works, the advanced does not :)
GuardianBoD 8 Jul @ 10:24am
It was great exploring the dwarven halls, we are in the library. I think we encountered an error. Whenever we ask to be taught by one of the professors, the dialoge is stuck after showing what we learned. Only way to do anything, is by leaving the game, and restarting. Happens in single player as well as in multiplayer :)
Still a great level, the library.
pbalfe  [author] 30 Jun @ 1:56pm
HiGuardianBoD:Thanks very much for the kind words. As you entered the dwarven halls the portcullis closed behind you. You will need to cleanse the halls and solve the quest before you are able to go back to the gaping maw
GuardianBoD 28 Jun @ 10:39am
It is a lot of fun. We got to dungeon level and hopefulyl today to 8 or even 9 :)
Great work. IT is challenging, but rewarding to play. Thankfully we have an able crafter in our group. So we were able to divi up the magic items and stuff quite well.
We have a well rounded party of a mage, a barbarian, a cleric and a thief.

I really like it that at the moment, we are unable to reach a city, and have to get rid of those vampires first.

I am curious when that will be :)
pbalfe  [author] 20 Jun @ 5:40pm
No problem at all. Would love to hear how you get on
GuardianBoD 20 Jun @ 5:11pm
Thanks for the reply. We just reached dungeon level 7, so on 8 there will be the next level up for our characters. It is a lot of fun, great work, outstanding. Thanks a lot for this map
pbalfe  [author] 20 Jun @ 4:54pm
@GuardianBod: Yes that is correct. From the description: NOTE: This is a milestone XP adventure! You will level up only when you explore and enter new locations only! This is a slightly slower leveling system but one that fits perfectly in to this campaign and my philosophy of game design and adventure.

Leveling is faster at lower levels - about one character level per dungeon level until 4. Then it is about once every other level from then.
GuardianBoD 20 Jun @ 2:27pm
Addendum. We reached dungeon evel 6 and got the level up to 5. Is that correct? Or should we have a higher level
GuardianBoD 20 Jun @ 11:31am
Hi,
first of it all, a great game.
But I gotta ask a question, I think I found a bug.

I play with a friend. we reached dungeon level 5 but since we entered the village, where the thrull reign, we had no more level ups.
Our characters are stuck at level 4
pbalfe  [author] 18 Jun @ 11:28am
Thanks for that b.arthur. I am working on an update still to try fix all the teleporters. I have a list of patches and updates to make, as this is a huge module it is taking some time to get right and test everything
b.arthur 16 Jun @ 8:29pm
Adding a single person teleport circle as you have throughout the dungeon would solve this.

The dungeon is definitely worth playing at least twice....but my 6 party team is stick at the un-working for a 6 member party (for me) 4 person teleport circle in the 8th level that takes the party to the chess scenerio.....
b.arthur 16 Jun @ 8:29pm
Again, this is a superb dungeon! I played it to completion with a 4 person party - so I speak from experience. The difficulty at 1st level replicates the experience of us old timers who played table top Advanced D&D decades ago! (Yes, I am nostalgic about my first D&D gaming fun)

I am still appealing for a fix to get from level 8 to level nine through the chess game scenerio - in the game I was playing, the teleport circle that takes you to the chess game does not work for a 6 person party (the fix of pausing, etc. does not work). Please believe me - this is not me missing a secret way through the tombs (that is level 7) - I solved all that twice - first with my 6 person, then with my 4 person party.

Adding a single person teleport circle as you have throughout the dungeon would solve this.

Thanks for taking the time to write such detailed feedback — I really appreciate it. Level 1 in this campaign is intentionally tough: it’s designed as a gritty, survival-focused start inspired by old-school TTRPGs where every fight matters. I get that it won’t suit everyone, especially if you’re not a fan of fragile early-level gameplay. I don’t recommend starting at level 2 by default, as it shifts the intended balance — but if that makes the experience more enjoyable for you, I respect that. I may add an official level 2 start option in a future update for those who prefer it, though if so, reaching level 3 would take a bit longer to keep the pacing on track. Thanks again for the honest feedback — and I’m glad you gave it a go. I hope some parts of the campaign still worked well for you, and that it delivered at least some of that classic dungeon-crawl feel!
Lictor Face 15 Jun @ 9:08pm
For new players, highly recommend starting the game with a level 2 party if you're not using a six man party. Not necessarily because its extremely hard. But because the entirety of level 1 is a big trial of "how long do you expect me to play at level 1 before I get irritated and leave". I appreciate the spacing out and rationing of long rest points. But frankly speaking, with the density of encounters, checks and quests. Its bewildering how the party doesn't hit level 2 midway through. By my count, I had killed about 5-7 goblins, 1 warg, 1 ogre, 4 shadows (!), 4-6 standard bandits, 1 elite bandit, 2 dogs, 2 skeletons. All at level 1 with a four man party! This is ridiculous! New players do keep that in mind. If you absolutely hate level 1 gameplay, you are going to bounce off the first level of this campaign incredibly hard.
b.arthur 1 Jun @ 2:03pm
I suspect you are referring to the tombs on Level 7. Level 8 has the Hall of Element(als), Menagerie, different coloured doors and the Clay Golem. In the 4 player game (which I completed because of my 6 member party being stuck) the way from 8th to 9th level is through a portal to a battle on a chess board. It is this portal that does not work for me (despite using your work-around of pausing to get all six on the portal)
Your dungeon is a tour de force - congrats! If you would place an individual portal there at the 8th level portal that leads to the chess game (as you did for many other portals) I would be very grateful.
pbalfe  [author] 25 May @ 6:13am
@helloberman. Did you see the message about the secret passageway in the tombs? If you explore in there you will find it
b.arthur 18 May @ 7:34am
I would like to play the 6 person party and do recognise that the modded environment is not perfect. (That is not a criticism of your game, rather that one cannot expect the modded environment to be perfect) Your considerable efforts to create a complex and puzzle-heavy dungeon with a very creative backstory that continues throughout is much appreciated.

Possibly adding a single member portal to access the chess scenario would help - or advising me how to update my game version...

Regardless, I will play through the 4 member version if I cannot solve the 6 member party being stuck.
b.arthur 18 May @ 7:34am
My 6 member party is still stuck in level 8 - the teleporter fix (pausing, etc.) does not work for me. (This is the only portal that has me stopped) As best I can tell, I have the most recent game version (How does one check this? I do use the "from disc" when so prompted upon load) ) Also, how does on check for updates on Steam as you suggest? (pardon my ignorance, please). In order to determine if I had missed a game factor, I replayed up to the 8th dungeon level with a 4 member party - that worked fine throughout and I did not discover any factors (buttons, etc) that may have prevented the portal from operating. I thought perhaps killing the golem was the problem; tried a earlier save with the 4 person party - and no, that did not affect the portal.
Kimmokullervo 8 May @ 5:31am
I have played it now to the end (6-men). No problems at all when moving characters one by one. Recommended! You used puzzles and dungeon maker in a very fresh way. Especially witch bazaar and dragon cult end fight were nice. For 6-men think about adding a lot more status and detriment effects (to weapons), more enemies who can see invisible and overall less cannon fodder enemies with higher stats and skills. You have to break the action economy of a player, not make rounds longer with indifferent enemies doing nothing. Just my ideas!
Kimmokullervo 28 Apr @ 1:13am
Ok. I am now at level 19 or 20 without any big problems after level 8 (last teleport). It has been always be possible reset party to the same place with clicking "Entrance" or any other short-cut in the map or using this pause - click characters to move individually - unpause. There are some great puzzles and mysteries ahead (one Mr. Tagee comes to my mind :-)
b.arthur 22 Apr @ 1:34pm
Correction: Travel from level 7 to level 6 by a six character party still results in two characters being trapped between levels and going to 1 hit point. (There is a work-around to not lose the two characters)
b.arthur 22 Apr @ 12:46pm
I used your recommended way to get 6 characters onto a 4 person portal in level 8 - but they did not portal out. I believe I have solved all of level 8 - but did I miss how to activate the portal? It is lit up...
b.arthur 22 Apr @ 12:44pm
Thank-you for fixing other issues (ie: 2 characters die when going from level 8 to level 7 and 7 to 6)
Kimmokullervo 19 Apr @ 12:00am
To b.arthur and other struggling to do 4-men campaigns with 6-men teams: 1) Teleports etc. Near teleport : pause - click your team to teleportation circle - those left outside of it, click their portal and move them separately to teleportation circle - unpause and they move now (you can move even all 6 in the same square if needed). 2) You have other to-fit problems. You can make last 2 members unconscious out of fight (for example wall of thorns) and drag them alone. Heal them when you want back to 6-man mode. This will get you past level 7 last teleport problem.

@Insufferable Smartypants. Thanks so much for the feedback. Delighted that you enjoyed it. Can you let me know what vendors in the dungeon were immersion breaking? Think I only added on additional one kinda outta place. I’ll have a look if you can let me know
Insufferable Smartypants 15 Apr @ 5:41pm
Man! This was great! While I found the vendor in the dungeons and the rest spot a little immersion breaking, I began to look forward to making it past a map and getting the rest in that I knew would be available.

Some of those fights were BRUTAL, but it kept me wanting to play into the late hours. Well done! One of the best I've played.
pbalfe  [author] 10 Apr @ 1:22pm
Thanks very much for that @Aepervius. Appreciate the feedback
Aepervius 3 Apr @ 7:17am
I am impressed. For me this is the best solasta mod of all time. It is a full recommend.
I am playing through again with a team of 6.
b.arthur 29 Mar @ 6:35pm
Looking forward to a 6 person adventure sans the portal glitches. Thanks!
b.arthur 29 Mar @ 6:33pm
Yah - that wall hole is a bit obscure - took me a while to notice it!
Aepervius 29 Mar @ 11:15am
ohh never mind i missed the hole in the wall.
Aepervius 29 Mar @ 10:57am
If you did make it to level 8, can you spoil me for level 7 ? I did find the note on order, but for the live of me when I click the button on order there is a single door to the north east (right side of stairs) which never open. So I am stuck, I have managed to open the chapel , the hall of statue and the hall of tomb...
pbalfe  [author] 29 Mar @ 3:03am
I'm an old guy player myself - you picked up on my inspirations!
I'm going to try get a 6 man party together over the weekend. May take me a week or so to get through the playthough and then make the changes-
b.arthur 28 Mar @ 11:01am
Yours is a very unique dungeon - reminiscent to me of old Advanced D&D - noted that nostalgia can distort memory over time. But, the 6 adventurer party lines up with old Baldur's Gate, Icewind dale, etc. games - hence the attraction to older players like me. I do appreciate the effort you have put into this game!
b.arthur 28 Mar @ 10:56am
I did make it to level 8 - this level is all good until the teleport portal (room with the light cube GM)
Here, my usual technique for a 6 person party on a 4 person portal failed. This was inconsistent with other similarly placed teleport in your dungeon. I searched around quite a bit to determine if I had failed to meet some requirement to activate the cube - but no luck there.
I suspect (with no real evidence) that a four person teleport circle may work if it is out in the open (not against a wall) as one can then pass the party over in various directions until they all happen to be on it at once. Having said that, I did manage to teleport on teleport circles identical to the one in level 8 - so the failure remains a mystery to me.
b.arthur 28 Mar @ 10:50am
Thanks - I did solve the 78th level "trap" - just avoided it. I have to acknowledge that your system of hidden doors, buttons, etc. is very elaborate as compared to most games - requires that players be diligent and observant - not a bad thing, I would say.
pbalfe  [author] 28 Mar @ 6:18am
Thanks for all that. I never tested with a 6 man team but tried to accommodate them with the extra single teleporters. I think the best thing for me to do is start my own 6 man run and note the issues as I go
b.arthur 26 Mar @ 8:45pm
So, it would be good to fix all of that - but my current problem is that my party is trapped on level 7 - and I have work-arounds for the other issues. (IE: before you leave level 7 you have 2 revivification spells)
b.arthur 26 Mar @ 8:42pm
Last, when the party fast travels out of 7 to other level, the fast travel either kills or reduces hit points to 1(one). In every case, the trapped members or damaged/killed members are the last two in the party icons on the left of the screen.
b.arthur 26 Mar @ 8:40pm
As well, when one fast travels into Level 7, or simply takes the "door" to level 7, only 4 party members enter with two trapped in the limbo between 6 and 7. They can through spells and shoot missiles to where they can see but cannot move into level 7. The work-around is once the 4 characters who made it to level 7 find a room with a fast travel arrow, the action of fast travelling moves the trapped two out of limbo. (The identical issue and work-around exists on level 6, - if memory serves me right - it may be 5?)
b.arthur 26 Mar @ 8:35pm
The issue is on dungeon level 7 - Yes. I got through Level 4 OK - there was a work-around.

On Level 7, at one point the team needs to teleport into a room that has a button that opens a door. (As far as I can guess, it is the last room of level 7 where I presume the key for Level 8 is)

The problem is that when the 6 member team teleports into that room with the button, only 4 members end up in the room . The other two members end up just outside the room. Then, the 4 characters in the room, upon placing themselves on the teleport circle, do not teleport. (I suppose because the whole party is not on the teleport circle. So, the game is stuck at that point.
