Below 1m/s this thing doesn't really drill asteroids... above 1m/s this thing simply breaks. It's very hard to handle I urge anyone tempted by the video the author posted not to download this contraption as effective as it might have seemed. I gave up after about 12 tries it just doesn't work. my best guess is that the drills went through an unfortunate patch.

Nice work !

I like the design, connectors in the head, good idea^^ and rounded corners...but it's requiring to keep on your keyboard.

same problem .... I tried diffrent speeds on the head also adjusting my approch ... it seem to work ok on smoother surfaced rock, but once it got in there the head got all chewed up... nice concept needs more testing

der versuch ging nach hinten los
Effekt war als der bohrkopf den asteorieden traf naja standbild/crash

you know with 01.035.xxx you now have advanced rotors with a conveyro going down the middle of it so you can transfer automatically now while still drilling :D

Itself is a big ship(because smallships dont have this cockpit) but the head has got smallship drills.

@ NrKy Thanks :) Yeah the idea was to make something look a bit realistic by not having 5000 drills and still be able to do big holes. The weight isn't too much beleive me, sometimes it moves while digging. The new version I made which you can find in the description is about 20% heavier and has more thrusters in order to keep it more stable.

@morrae Nothing unrealistic here. I'm not stacking missile launchers or something like that. As long as you leave space for the flamme of the thruster it's possible scenario.
Plus the head of the ship is separated from the body by a rotor, which makes any thruster placed on it unusable. This is why i had to place them in the body, with the cockpit.

TAW.net | NSIMS, you bring up the blueprint menu while looking at nothing and pressing Ctrl+B, then you select the ship you want and press Ctrl+V to paste it in.

This is a novel idea. I'm subbed to another massive drill ship, but it has a stationary head. I've never seen a ship with this design
