Is there anyway to make it so that saved maps can somehow retain their original player and city-state settler start locations?

If we were in, i don't know, 2016, i would use one of these mods. But in 2025 the cp code is much more advanced and polished, it's impossible to use another mod that improves the AI's intelligence. But thanks for the answer.

@arieviloj CP just uses the code from "Smart AI" and "Artificial Unintelligence", so you can just use them instead

interesting. Seems like that was what it was for me ya. Well that's alright since I play fairly small maps anyways so it doesn't spoil much for me finding a few civs.

I appreciate the mod nonetheless and you're a real champ keeping up with the comments, much respect to you!

@Northern Grace There is a bug whereby if you explore the entire map using IGE, and then change location... it will cause meeting with other players

Works and works with the Community Patch as well.

Only downside really is if you want the NPC's to remain unfound then this kinda spoils that since each time you change location it reveals that NPC who you swapped places with ^_^

either way this is amazing since it works and it doesn't limit you on 'resetting' the first load and eventually the game crashing. This is awesome.

maybe i need to reinstall the game then cause i have the dlc installed i just can't activate the mod now after the update. also i have already tried uninstalling this mod and reinstalling it.

@Daedric God the mod uses an icon introduced in g&k dlc, if you don't have it or disabled it then it won't work

game told me there was an update for the mod while in the mods selection screen. updated the mod and now its telling me i'm missing requirements gods and kings expansion pack.

Replicate it, then check C:\Users\name\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\Logs\Lua.log for errors

I am encountering an issue with the app - I cannot go back to a start location which I have seen before (I can only see each start location once). When I try to go back, the map appears black and the 'found city' option disappears from the settler.

There is no incompability, the advanced units megamod is too big for this 32 bit app. There is nothing anyone can do, do not try looking.

@Muaré Sullivan The error you are getting is likely core game code so one of those mods must use a DLL. This mod only uses lua functions and therefore can be remove or added to a saved game without breaking it. There may be incompatibility with "convenient start" if this modifies spawn location. The saved games may be corrupt if the file size is significantly different.

Also, as additional info: The savegames that I save with this mod sizes like 12kb when other normal saves that works for me takes like 970kb

Someone have problems with the savegames? I saved a game after play with this mod and then when I try to charge it and play again then the MICROSOFT VISUAL C++ RUNTIME ERROR appears...
