There might be a problem with VRE Insectors and their movespeed on Sand, already reported the bug so expect it to be fixed.

Already working on it, I have an Outlander Yttakin faction playable, just need to give the faction better flavor.
You'll need Insectoids 2, as the faction bases in this mod uses assets from that mod.

It only happens if you don't have Alpha Memes installed.
The Hivebound CultureDef has a misplaced MayRequire="vanillaexpanded.vmemese" in its thingStyleCategories . It should be placed added at the <li> instead of <category> node.

The only difference I can spot is this line:
[KCSG] Reel's Insector Faction contains 6 missing symbols.
And yeah I took a look at your code and this error is truly nonsense, but it really only happens with this mod set.
