been using this since it dropped and only recently realized it overrides any mod that tries to change dps for any reason, like underwater sounds or otherwise sound muffling

i'm not even sure if it would be possible to code it to let other stuff override it, but it would be a pretty good idea imo
this works best as a mod that works under everything else

There's an add-on that did a similar thing a few months before this add-on released called EAX - Environmental Audio Extensions, but has not gotten updates since last year.

A distinct feature that it had was "Occlusion" which muffled sounds that were behind walls using the same checks for determining the reverb. It'd be cool to see this feature in this add-on at some point.

I just noticed something very cool that I think is a side effect.

This addon also fixes the issue of the reverb stopping when you ALT+Tab out of the game.

Just letting you know, I prefer the reverb of the previous version a lot more. The optimization is appreciated for sure, but the reverb is completely different. That being said, thank you for this mod!

This addon works flawlessly! It kind of needs a bit of a performance update because it's always at the most consuming addon in PERFOPUS: Performance Metrics. A slider for intensity would be cool and I see a lot of other people want that.

18 traces every frame is a bit too much just to get the size of a room, i reckon you could get away with traces up, down, left, right, front, back to get a decent approximation. along with that you can run the logic on only every n-th tick because running it every frame is not that necessary

for some reason it only works when I'm in the paused, but when I go back to the game there's no reverb.

Okay gonna try going back to DWR due to me liking certain features this mod technically doesn't have like the additional sonic cracks and occlusion, weapon checks for different types etc etc. So I am gonna now switch back, see how that sounds on my next video after the one I just made with your mod, gonna watch both vdeos and try to very carefully listen to the difference...

So far it seems to work well and unlike DWR I don't have to type in dsp_room 1 everytime for the best experience, this mod is very plug and play instead... hmmm. Perhaps also more widely compatible and less complicated in it's code? Less things to go wrong?

Plus I like how this adds reverb to everything, I preferred that option checked and turned on in DWR as well.

Even after your consideration you told me, I am gonna try this vs DWR, I think Dynamic Weapon Reverb somehow broke with my mod setup, so it doesn't fully work like it used to.

Weapon sound design wise I wouldn't give up DWRv3 for this.

I did exactly that, the problem is that other sounds were low, like ambient sound, The mod is cool, and makes the game very cinematic, but I don't think it's for me, I liked it anyway.
