@Aragon - for B41, yes it should be - I've had it working on a test server before now. The same applies to all of them, barring any new ones specifically for B42. In theory, they should also work for MP in B42, but as it's not enabled haven't been able to check

Is this mod b41 / multiplayer (server) compatible?

@Winne_the_Poo - In B41, there was only "Metalworking" but it was essentially welding. In the code it's referred to as "Metalwelding" In B42 there is both "Metalworking" and "Welding." But the old Metalworking became Welding, and the new "Metalworking" is "Blacksmithing" in the code.

"Blacksmithing" has be in the game for a while, but not enabled, and iunno why the devs decided to change the names around. Most people know them as such, so to make things easier, I went with Welding and "Blacksmithing" for the books

Incidentally, I IIRC the "Metalworking" crafting tabs call it "Blacksmithing" too, so really the devs need to decide on one or the other ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm so confused.
B42 has 'Welding' and 'Metalworking' and no 'Blacksmithing'.
The skill popup for these Metalworking vids reads 'metalworking' but the XP goes into Welding (which is good but the texts are incorrect).

Really appreciate these mods btw!

@RizTales - Well, that does such. Sounds like the save file got corrupt somehow? Well, I guess we are on an unstable build :S

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be any of the mods messing it up. I started a new save, and ran with all my mods. VHS tapes are now recognized as such; so it's only the save that's fucked. RIP...

@RizTales - I did check again earlier, and it's working fine for me. Try making a quick fresh start with just the Tapes mod in. If it's still having issues, unsub and resub - but I it's prolly another mod that's interferring

Actually, if you want a VHS mod that shows more information that I know works without conflict, you should check out my workshop for for the Video Miester patch, install that and the parent mod, and you shouldn't have any issues.

Only other VHS mod I have is 'Named Skill VHS Tapes'. Turning it off now to see if it conflicts.
Update 1: Didn't change a thing.
Going to try a fresh save to test later.

@Winne_the_Poo - Yes, that is correct. Read the description
Winnie_the_Poo 18 Jan @ 7:29am
I'm pretty sure the Metal Working tapes give XP for Welding instead
Monkey Magic  [author] 17 Jan @ 6:51pm
@RizTales - Have you added any mods recently? Specifically any other VHS tapes mods barring my own? Coz it's possible there's a conflict there. I've tested the mod again just to be sure, and it's working fine on my end (I always sub to my mods so I get the same experience as you guys, so I know it's working correctly)

You could also try starting a new game, and see if they are working fine there, if they are your save file may have got corrupt - we are on an unstable build after all. :S

For some reason, I can't put your VHS tapes into the TV. It's like it treats them as a different item. Although, I believe it worked when I first installed it, but I didn't watch them. Then after a few days tooltip saying what they upgrade disappeared; 'metalworking' etc.
Monkey Magic  [author] 9 Jan @ 6:54pm
Please note, if you are already subscribed for B41, and the tape is not showing in B42, please relaunch Steam. If that doesn't fix it (in most cases, it should) unsubscribe, and resubscribe to force an update. Steam is weird sometimes :S

Also note that "Metalworking" is now "Welding" in B42; and the new "Metalworking" is actually "Blacksmithing". I did change the title here (not in-game) but looks like it got switched back automatically.

Metalworking is probably the most important skill available, barring carpentry early on, and in vanilla is given practically no love in the VHS department. There are a small number of home VHS, but those are super rare.
