Then you have to select the automatroid you want to apply the upgrade to with left click.
Alternatively, you can select the upgrade item itself and get a "use with" gizmo button.
That gizmo button will then prompt you to select a pawn, and after that, select a automatroid via left click.
Once either of these two actions is finished, the select pawn will move to grab the upgrade item and then move to apply it to the selected automatroid.
But:
Be sure that nothing else picks up/rreserves the upgrade item in the meantime; I.E trashcans picking it up
And some upgrade items go in the same bodypart and thus can not be applied ontop of each other, but you will lose nothing.
When the pawn reaches the upgrade item, you will get a message blur if the part can not be applied to the auomatroid.

Thanks for the reply and love the mod btw. Light Weight Frame and Applique Armour is so incredibly useful for my workers and soldiers respectively.

when I remove TDMS-AD, the game launches fine.
I tried running a steam "verify file integrity" on rimworld, then unsubribing and resubsribing to TDMS-AD, no effect.
