Quick update: The temporary workaround I posted below is no longer needed.

Awesome thanks!

There is a new temporary version that supports both 0.9.0 and the 0.9.1 opt in beta>

Thanks NBK, you might consider an actual mod release as well

I've created a temporary version that is compatible with the 0.9+ version
This is a temporary fix for the wound..type bug.

This is with Dekar's permission until their version is updated.

Installation:
* Subscribe to this mod.

* Download the .zip file

https://github.com/NBKRedSpy/QM_FloatingCombatText/releases/download/v1.1.0%2B1/FloatingCombatText.zip

* In the zip file, there is a FloatingCombatText folder, extract the *contents* of that inner folder to the following directory:
<steam dir>\steamapps\workshop\content\2059170\3315918858

If the copy is correct, it will have asked to overwrite the existing files.

The mod is now updated and compatible with the opt in beta.

To uninstall the changes, unsubscribe and resubscribe to this mod. It will reset the files.

@Tokie, Thanks! I've re-posted the info.

(The link below doesn't work unless you erase until you reach "/releases".)

BTW, that temporary version fixes the 'wound..type' issue with the opt in beta.
Umbral Reaver 24 Feb @ 1:53pm
Not sure if I did something wrong, but instead of wound names, it just displays the red text, 'wound..type'.

I still find it handy for number displays so it's tolerable.

Gotcha! glad to hear its a widespread problem. I was afraid it was just me LOL.
nbk_redspy 5 Feb @ 11:54am
Yep. I believe it is related to the changes in 0.8.5. The characters went to a 3d model that has some sort of pixilazation shader over it. (As I understand). The movement mod has a similar issue since it has text near the character.

It sounded like the devs are going to address it as it was causing them some issues as well. It doesn't impact the gameplay, just graphics.

Anyone else get weird artifacting where the text appears pixelated or fuzzy before correcting?

This should be in the base game as an option.

@Jaramon
Thanks for notice. Trying again it worked. On the first try, my new save refused to load.
Jaramon 26 Dec, 2024 @ 8:28pm
This mod seems to be working for 0.8.5
CaptainBorat 25 Dec, 2024 @ 3:54pm
So good it should be part of the base game
Drezzy 25 Dec, 2024 @ 12:53pm
This mod needs to be updated to the new 0.8.5 beta version asap.
nbk_redspy 2 Dec, 2024 @ 2:53pm
Top tier mod. Would love to see it in the base game as well.
Sefdzs 5 Nov, 2024 @ 9:17am
This should be in the base game honestly
Vince 1 Nov, 2024 @ 2:44am
This mod still works on 0.8, shows you how much damage you're doing exactly (and if / when you crit) and just makes the game so much more satisfying!
Icevenom 21 Oct, 2024 @ 1:00pm
Works great in 0.8 live too and is a great qol improvement.
Thanks modder.
Dai 30 Sep, 2024 @ 6:10am
Checked and does work in the latest beta version
Hedrox 28 Sep, 2024 @ 6:43am
Just so anyone knows, this seems to be working well in the current beta version :leviathancross:
Gauss 8 Sep, 2024 @ 1:27pm

AcEoFNeX 29 Aug, 2024 @ 2:03pm

ALE199 26 Aug, 2024 @ 9:06am
this should be in vanilla
[SpA]Uvpurple 26 Aug, 2024 @ 6:44am
massive improvement!
Hasbeans 25 Aug, 2024 @ 2:05pm
Makes combat feel so much more fluid rather than having to constantly right click enemies to see their damage
