It was funny as hell with the scavs but then it started randomly making an insanely high pitched noise at full volume, it is really annoying and other than that it is really fun

enjoying the hell out of this and was super stoked to see the previous rw/hl sound mods expanded upon even more!! particularly fond of the "long jump" hehe

idk if you plan on updating the mod anytime soon but if so, centipedes charging up are SUPER loud x_x the karma gates opening after you've gone through the decontamination is also a bit loud but i think that's just sounds layering on top of one another repeatedly.........

if it's possible in the future, it'd be really cool if this mod had its own dedicated menu so we could toggle certain sounds/kinds of sounds between the mod and vanilla (the hecu lizards are hilarious, but i do kinda miss the lizard sounds haha)....... also this is inconsequential but i just think it'd be neat if when you stepped into a karma gate it briefly played the black mesa warning klaxon :3c like the ones that go off when blast doors close

Just popped an update, the Rain Deer should hopefully make their screeching sound now when a puff ball is thrown. I will also soon look into the spearmaster sound, would need to figure out which sound it is to replace / how to outline it in the text doc. Appreciate the report and kind words! :er_heart:

adore this mod, i put it on a couple months ago and just... haven't stopped using it LOL !! :rwslugcat:

i have found that rain deer don't make any noise though, and an alternate spearmaster-making-spears noise would be cool, maybe the charging up sound from health/charging stations ? im digging around trying to figure out how to do it myself too =3

Slugcat back flips and the Mother Noodlefly do not have any audio, which is slightly bizarre seeing them stabbing where it makes no sound unless they get stuck to a wall. Unless I am the only one who has this issue.

An update: whatever I did, I have fixed it somehow; it may be because I disabled and enabled Downpour again, if I had to assume.

In any case, I can finally hear all the Lizards except Blue Lizards grunt as HECOs, even Red Lizards.

Pizz, are you on Steam Deck or otherwise running via Proton? There have been a couple mods that have required me to change the game launch options to get them to work. I have not had a chance to test this mod yet, but I'll post back when I do.

I see. I do not have any SFX overhaul modifications added except yours subscribed; no Fisobs, no Regions, nor custom soundtracks, but I do have Lizard Customizer enabled, for whatever that is worth. I appreciate your response anyhow.

Just tested it myself (me on my local copy) with a friend (who's via steam subscription) and both of us are able to hear the lizards just fine, even Red ones. Have you got any other lizard or SFX mods on - maybe it's a conflict?

Friend also tested messing with the Additional Voicelines - both on and off they got HECU voicelines. If anyone else that subs could report back if the lizards still work for them I'd be super appreciative!

None of the Lizards, except the Green and Pink Lizards, utter HECU grunts except the attack ones, with or without the "additional lizard voices option". Even the Caramel Lizards, which did grunt as a HECU, is not the case anymore, for whatever reason; Red Lizards are still the same for me.

Although I do want to confide that the Batflies, when there is nothing going on, can be quite annoying and a little too loud in the background if you want to stay in one place longer than usual.

This may or may not be subjective, however.

I did realize some time later that the Lizards have some sort of randomized system when picking up grunts, which is clever enough! Some Lizards are more louder than the others, too, even when you are close to them, as you have stated.

For a first-time modification, it is of good quality in my eyes, so happy accidents are minuscule in comparison. Glad to be of some assistance! Good luck.

Funnily enough, there are no differences in the Lizard voices set by me. I took ~300 of the HECU voicelines (all the HECU chatter is done in single words) and the game picks randomly from all of them. Rainworld already applies a random pitch shift to the Lizards, so they all sound a bit different when speaking and it turned out to be a happy accident. Something I do plan to do is add some more voicelines to the Lizard attacks since at the moment there's only a small pool of attack voicelines I edited together.

I assume that's likely the case on the additional voicelines front, I'll see if I can get something working without the additional Lizard voicelines enabled. As for Pinks and Reds having issues, I'll definitely look into that!

Thanks for letting me know, too. First time making a mod really and there's likely a handful of stuff I've missed so any feedback is helpful! The Lizards have definitely been the biggest challenge since they're so vocal.

I have also found out that Pinks sometimes do not utter HECU grunts when they are terrified or excited of seeing prey, while Reds do not grunt at all except when biting and such. Hope this may help.

Great mod!

I do wonder if the Blue, White, Red, and perhaps some other Lizards that I have missed have unique voices like the Green and Caramel Lizards have for themselves, as it is hard to notice any differences; the Blue Lizard and Cyan Lizard, when terrified, do not utter anything like the Pink and so on. Are the differences to other Lizards only words like Yellow and Black Lizards, while Green and Caramels have noticeable different tones?

I also think that, since folk need the Remix to install mods on Steam Workshop, they also have to enable "Additional lizard voices" for the Lizards; otherwise, the Yellow Lizards, in my observation, do not utter anything; perhaps that is true with other Lizards, like Black and Cyans.

I do not know if this is already thought out or not.

Sadly not, I'd need to add entirely new sounds for that and I don't currently know how to do that. All this mod does is take existing SFX and replaces them, the scavengers only have footstep sounds.

As a compromise though I made the Lizards speak like HECU grunts and it can be very entertaining!
