Hey! You know what they say, a shot in the dark is better than no shot at all -- I'm a writer, and I cant map for my life, ive tried. I wrote a story for a portal game, designed some puzzles for it, and drew some concept art for it. I admire your mapping skills, and i think we could work well together, as your style of mapping could work well for the story i've written. Let me know if this interests you at all, thanks!

Ah darn! I had to do a weird hack to stop the laser from closing the door on unpowered if the trap condition was activated (which is achieved by throwing both cubes into the end platform)

Hello! The laser catcher issue seems to be exclusive to Linux. The overlap between `laser_catcher` and `laser_fake` is the issue. Somehow, the Windows and Linux builds of Portal 2 handle the arithmetic to solve this overlap in different ways.

Good looking remake, but you might want to move one of the cube drop points to where it is in the original: slightly unintended solution ?

I used the actual map editing software to make it, rather than the puzzlemaker. Which gives me pretty much infinite freedom on what to create. In this case, particularly, the overgrown visuals, which cannot be achieved to this extent without the Hammer editor.
