Vehicle Dubs Needs Fix

is 1.6 planned please?

Instead of making the needs be normally handled this just seems to prevent pawns from ever getting thirsty? Even when parked on a very dry desert tile thirst seems to reset back to full whenever it hits the "thirsty" mark. Bladder does the same, and hygiene seems to be pegged at 70%? Am I having some sort of conflict or is this just what this mod does?

It looks like animals don't drink using this mod :(

Can I play this mod with DBH: Lite?

tq bro

Any chance you can make this compatible with DBH: Lite?

@WJSabey For land vehicles first they will check for any clean water sources (Bottles, Waterbutts) in cargo to draw from. Failing this, rivers in the cell or a chance of rainfall depending on the cell rainfall chance/levels. If these checks fail then bottled untreated water will be used, or if near dehydration then polluted water will be used.

Oh this is great. Having to remember to use the character editor to manually refill their needs every day while travelling is a real pain. Can you explain the water a little? Do we have to load them with water or do they just scavenge it automatically?

dubs still hasnt added this to the main mod?

You have saved the lives of many pawns with this. Pawn lives matter!

I remember last time i did a nomad run with cars thinking how cool it was to have tribals (I patched the shit out of the vehicles mod so yes my tribals could make cars) just stopping to grab fuel, only to realize far too late people will die from dehydration if i wasn't paying attention. Bit surprising how those two mods don't play together but this mod is great, this will save lives

You have no idea what a perfect timing this mod was for me. Just the other day I started a nomad run and the first 3 years before I got this mod was hell. The next 3 was so much easier and I managed to cover more than half the world map in that time without needing to stop every day to make sure no one died from dehydration. THANK YOU!

Have you thought about making stops mandatory to deal with bladder? I think it would be a nice detail if you had to stop to deal with it and button to set such stops on auto
I just can't get rid of picture in my head from old film where they did the thing right from the window without stopping the car...

such a basic concept, I wonder why it wasn't implemented before. Anyways, good job, thanks

I have not tested it but I think it should work with DBH Lite. There is handling for if needs are not present.
I will be making the code available on Github shortly, if a contributor for VF would like to push my changes let me know and I can take this mod down.
veles 4 Sep, 2024 @ 10:35pm
will this work with DBH lite?
Lemaia Borb 4 Sep, 2024 @ 9:14pm
absolute life saver

Good mod, but why not just make a pull request at VF Github so that it's integrated with the framework?

Brilliant, thank you! I hated having to disable needs when sending road convoys long distances.
Space Moth  [author] 4 Sep, 2024 @ 7:32am
Oh, thank you! Will get that fixed!
Soky 4 Sep, 2024 @ 7:25am
In the first sentence of the description you mention the needs added by DBH as "rest, thirst and bladder". I think you may have meant "hygiene" rather than "rest", especially since that's the only mention of that.

I am glad people are liking the mod!
@Omnires I like the idea, will have to check how to detect if a vehicle is spacer. Maybe by looking up associated research tech levels. A space suit mod to add a headdif to reduce thirst and bladder fall rates are a good idea though too! Thank you for the ideas!
Omnires 4 Sep, 2024 @ 6:09am
I would love to think that some of the spacer vehicles would having restrooms built into them. Giving that there is not many gas stations out in open space. So mid-sized reusable ships that can go into orbit should also address this.

That are you also make it so that some outfits would also address things like thirst and bladder. For example, EVA suits and some types of power armor can have built it water storage to drink from as while as wast removal systems. Again it is not like you can take off your helmet to drink water on a space walk.
