same morale bug

@yellow bear Happy to hear and hopefully you enjoy it! Development is paused on this right now due to irl stuff, but I will definitely return to it as soon as I can, around february I think, as I have many other things to add to make the combat better, and closer to older titles, and then the campaign as well.

Just wanted to say thanks for this.

Sorry I turned off the mod a week ago so I can't check anymore lol sorry man did love your mod though will be using it the future when I start a new campaign

@pete You can hover over the morale bar of the enemy that never routs and check what are the morale effects applied to it. What does it say? What are the numbers?

I haven't encountered the morale bug yet, after testing with start of campaign battles on easy, hard, and veteran. On each difficulty enemy morale behaved as described - quick and deadly battles similar to vanilla shogun 2, no unreasonable last stands. It might be related to specific units or later campaign effects?

Just that during any battles fought with the mod active, it works as described (as far as I could tell) except any enemy units, excluding the enemy general, will not retreat (break moral) under any circumstances at all. The moral bar only goes half way down at most. This is too literally 1 enemy (not unit, enemy) left on the battlefield. Like I say excluding the enemy general, which loses moral and retreats very easily.

Can anyone give me steps to that "no one loses moral" thing? I don't get that at all.
Desert warlord 14 Sep, 2024 @ 2:16pm
the moral needs to be fixed, units fight to the last its ridiculous
Pete 12 Sep, 2024 @ 7:46am
Yeah sorry I should add that the General is the only one that loses moral. Like at all none of the units are losing moral apart from the general and pretty easily tbh.
Anavel Gato 12 Sep, 2024 @ 2:41am
Unrealistic morale break the game. When I killed and routed the general, they still stand and fight like nothing.
Anavel Gato 11 Sep, 2024 @ 10:37pm
The concept is cool, but in my first battle, my general was killed by the concentration range attack too quick. Fatigue system made our troops become tired even before any fighting.

There is no point of having your general in a fight because he will die real fast.

So love your mod but I just fought a battle where the enemy didn't lose moral even when there was literally 1 enemy left?
-Tim-maC-  [author] 10 Sep, 2024 @ 3:47pm
1.Yes 2.Already exists, there are values for being shattered, which I tweaked a bit 3.I am not sure if this is possible. And thanks ;)

That's an impressive job! I have three questions (suggestions) concerning campaign gameplay:
1) are you planning to remake victory points in settlement battles? In vanilla attacker holding even one victory point gives insane stacking morale debuff to defenders. It's the one of the things that feels among the greatest disrepancies from the early titles
2) are you planning to introduce a treshold of losses beneath which an unit is wiped out after a battle? eg. >10% soldiers left of max 180 - unit wiped out after a battle. This was present in earlier titles as well
3) are you planning to make forts remain in owner's hands after enemy taking a province, like Tribal Outposts do?
Please don't consider this as a list of demands, I respect your vision and understand these might be much harder or simply impossible to introduce. I wish you many luck with your future work!

slings need nerf or double the hp of all units

I'm focused on gameplay so cavalry is fine, though I will do a focused pass to make them appropriately more niche
Your Mother 9 Sep, 2024 @ 8:27pm
This looks really interesting. What is your take on cavalry? I find their existence given the time period, odd. I think the first use of cavalry were the Assyrians in the 9th Century, which is hundreds of years forward from the game's focus.

Interesting. Thanks. I'll add it to the list of investigations :)

I also read from some mod that reduced radius of chariots can make them cut through enemy formation which could be a good fit for your mod.
Croatoan 9 Sep, 2024 @ 12:11pm
Suggestion, bronze workshops or level can improve weapon damage/attack.
WTID 9 Sep, 2024 @ 11:04am
sounds serious mod lets try it.
