THE BEEEEEEEEEEST MOD!
Bitterholz 7 Feb @ 8:26am
Absolutely goated mod, the tech tree has always been the bane of my modlists.
TurtleShroom 31 Jan @ 1:12pm
I will! Thank you very much!

@TurtleShroom: Great. If you find one button that is totally unclickable, just told me and I'll find some time to patch that...
TurtleShroom 31 Jan @ 12:13pm
I mean, if I can still click them, that's perfectly fine. I was just afraid that I could not reach one!
GonDragon  [author] 31 Jan @ 11:27am
@TurtleShroom: Sorry, but no. It may seems as a small change, but since it happens only with rimmsqol, and only in dev mode, and even with the overlap the buttons steel seems to be usable... I don't think I will change that, sorry again.

Perhaps, if you have the RIMMSQOL Mod, your buttons could be moved a bit to the left?
GonDragon  [author] 30 Jan @ 6:35pm
@TurtleShroom: I don't use that mod, but I think that it should work. The previous comment said that there is some sort of issue with button positions in devmode when both mods are enabled, but that still should be usable.

Does this Mod work with the RIMMSQOL Mod, BTW? I already reorder all of my Mods under that. I would LOVE to be able to just click a button and export it into a Patch with your system.

I figured out the issue. RIMMSqol adds buttons to the research window for saving new positions. Both of these kinda over lap a bit.
I think RIMMSqol's buttons are also a little miss aligned in general.
Negligible and can be ignored completely outside of Dev mode messing with the research tree.

@Sapphic Eldritch Horror: Are you using a different UI Scale than default? That might be the issue. This mod only adds two buttons next to the edit button without moving it, so it could be related to UI scaling.

I am having an issue where the Save/Copy/Edit buttons are just ever so slightly off the screen.
The research window is scroll-able both Up/Down and Left/Right but that does affect the button positions.
I am unsure why and how to go about fixing.
and advice?

Small update to make it compatible with Better Research Tree. Also, fixed an Issue where custom positioning of projects were not being applied after load.

@tide{S}haper industries: Well, I was planning on expanding it when I needed it. I kinda needed this mod to reorder the whole research tree, otherwise It would be a nightmarish task using the vanilla dev tools to do that. However, for the other parts I needed (change prerequisites from projects, and requisites from items), it was way faster to do it manually than create a devtool... I don't discard doing it at some time, but I don't think it would be on the immediate future.

And about the patch operation, it should throw a red error when the def is not found (That's why I added the OperationFindMod operation to the patch generated by the mod).

I basically have all those things in my 'hand-written' patches, but having an in-game option to re-arrange things and even export the info/patches is a godsend, not gonna lie.

On that topic though - I would be curious what (if any) further plans are to this project. Like; having a way to set the pre-requisites ingame as well would clearly make this close to an all-in-one solution. As well as one question about the custom patchOp - without me having to look into the code (which I'm not good with in the first place) - is your custom patchOp a 'safe-patch' just checking if a researchDef exists and if not failing silently, or does the 'success always' hint a 'regular' vanilla patchOp?

This is everything that RIMMSQOL does, but EVEN BETTER, because it generates PATCHES! WOW!
WhiteJao 10 Sep, 2024 @ 5:05am
Aww i tried what you suggested but that mod must be overwriting other stuffs too. Tab changes worked but it resets position. Eh no matter I can live without queues when i can finally have clean vanilla research tab. Thanks alot
GonDragon  [author] 10 Sep, 2024 @ 3:57am
@Vulkandrache: Reorder the tech try is a vanilla feature, in dev mode, and it's intended to help moders and developers to find the correct positions in an easier way. In that regard, this mod just adds a save buttons to persist the changes between sessions.

@WhiteJao Kinda? If that mod overwrites the vanilla research windows, then you won't see the new buttons. But you can always disable that mod, do the changes you want, save them, and enable that mod again.
WhiteJao 10 Sep, 2024 @ 3:37am
is this compatible with vanilla research panel - queue? I'm scared to try since that mod is rather... uncompromising
Vulkandrache 9 Sep, 2024 @ 8:58pm
Is this legit a dragndrop system for the research window?
Does it work regardless of tech introduced by other mods?
