@Mistpirit The reason I included a purple was because it it unhealthy to have a red effect for both red and blue team. I try to maintain teamcoloring whenever possible in this game. I do agree, though, purple is a bit weird, but it was the best idea I had for it.

i really love this effect but only the red version since its meant to actually be BLOOD and yknow blood is typically RED if you're healthy not PURPLE so uhh yea get rid of purple thanks ty

closest thing to this is knifestorm and this effect is different enough to that to where they won't be confused for each other

I think they must be talking about "Abyssal Aura" which looks similar from a glance, but it's a different concept.

The BLU-team variant is just horseshoe crab blood, no big deal.

Yeah, the inclusion of purple rain was to add a teamcolor to the effect. A red smoke/blood on a blue merc is a bad idea, if there is another way I could have executed it let me know, I'm always happy to change my effects.

honestly as much as i hate the unusual slop we get now, this is pretty simple and looks good, it's not too over the top with flashy neon garbage, it's a cloud with rain and it's done, also purple rain.. funni..

I think an ingame gif could help demonstrate the effect, maybe with a different hat too. A lot of people who look at submissions will miss things such as the ingame demo at the end of the video.
