The problem is that there are serious UI issues if you try to mess with promotions, and apart from those, I don't think there's another way to add a script to a unit. I'm not even sure if you can add a script that way. Regardless, that's what you'd need to add that functionality to the game.

I would love to see someone change purity 1 to a withdrawal chance for explorers instead. I think that is beyond my ability though. Anyone up for the challenge.

@Aulis Yeah that would be a good mid to late game one, but I am sure how far up and what te effect of game balance might be by shifting several of the purity affinities down. For now I will stick to this and try to figure out how to simulate civ Vs Survivalist 3 as a purity 1 replacement.

@Cephme : I thought about it for a bit, and I think that a bonus to the Terrascape tile improvement (less upkeep?) would fit better for Purity than immunity from aliens. I wouldn't put it on level one.

As a Purity player, this is far more enjoyable.

Nice to recieve a bonus against Aliens when it is relevant.

Honestly I am pretty new to modding. I have the raw code but am not sure how to post it properly elsewhere (such as civfanatics). Can you link me to some instructions on where you would like to see it?

At first glance I don't think I will be able to do that. Affinities call player perks. Withdrawal is a unitperk and I don't see a way to get a player perk to call a unit perk.

What would you guys think to instead of flipping them, replacing Purity 1 with a 100% withdrawal chance (a la Civ V) for explorers. That would take away many of the offensive tactics of the way they are now. I am not sure I can figure out how to do so, but might try.

Ideally, I'd like a mod that replaces the immunity to aliens with something else, because any immunity to the aliens is quite overpowered, in my humble opinion. For now, this mod will do, though.

I haven't played for Purity yet, but so far every AI that uses Purity has been easily sweeped.

I agree its too powerful when compared to the other tier 1's, but by the time you reach tier 3 purity I think most artifacts will be cleaned up and the important map areas already scouted. So getting it so late wouldn't be terribly useful

Albie - Great minds think alike. I personally like small specific mods that do one thing so I can pick and choose vs big packages so am doing these mods piece meal. I am happy to see the same idea will make it in to your package for those who like the larger mods.

I am working on one more to change the pathfinder virtue from explorers get +3 expedition modules to explorers get +1 expedition module and +1 sight range. Thoughts on that ?

Riso - I was trying to make as minimal a change as possible while still "fixing" the Purity 1 problem. I think this was the simplest way, but am happy to share my code with you as a guide for if you want to make a mod that does it yourself.

Crazily enough, this is going to be in the next update of my mod (BeBa) as well. If you've done it the same way I have (which I strongly suspect), it works fine! Have been playing with it for a few days.
