Yeah sadly the hands aren't changed (yet), we might redo the item next year perhaps, with some edits on the texturing/ sculpting etc

I love it, but just one question. Does this also change the hands? It would feel kind of awkward to have flesh colored hands with a green face

doesn't look any more detailed than the spy alien invasion update hat, I think it rocks and works within the theme parameters of TF2.
