Bubble Weavers
modthesillyguy 19 Jul @ 3:51am
the game doesn't exactly "blackscreen"
it just freezes, so it stays on the screen,
what mod may be causing this lag?
modthesillyguy 19 Jul @ 3:50am
ok uhrh

I'm not changing the spawns but you can play the region by going into the files, removing the bubble weaver dependency and playing a campaign that doesn't have them (Rivulet, Saint)
TheDestroyer 1 Jun @ 10:03am
Could you add a replacement for the bubble weavers until it updates? The developer in the comments says it wont update soon and i don't want to wait for it to update to try this mod, you could use small packs of polliwogs from the M4rblelous Entity Pack or eel lizards/salamanders whichever you think fits best, you don't have to do this and I wont mind too much if you don't want to, its fine.

Bubble Weavers if I had to guess. It hasn't been updated since this past November, whereas the other three are already up-to-date.

HOLLOW KNIGHT MENTIONED !
aestephen23 11 Apr @ 9:58am
Ah, I see. Thanks for the reply, I hope the dependencies/dependency causing this gets updated at some point.
Tat011  [author] 11 Apr @ 7:43am
A dependency may not have updated to watcher yet
aestephen23 11 Apr @ 7:23am
Unfortunately when the mod is applied (with all of its dependencies) on the latest version of the game, it freezes it on a black screen whenever it is booted. This is with the Downpour DLC applied and nothing else.

The absolute SWARM of overseers in here is hilarious.
Tat011  [author] 14 Jan @ 6:00am
Ok I've implemented this, thx for the help.

Maybe there's a more effective way to test, but I did runs using Monk both with and without DS+, where I navigated to DS_A17 by way of DS_A16, grabbing several placed objects, hibernated in DS_S01r, went to Drowned Pantheon, then went back to DS_S01r. The connections appeared to work in both cases.
I think that the reason the two [REPLACE] commands work is because they work by replacing all instances that the previous [FINDLINE] command returns, but in this case if

[FINDLINE]DS_A16 : DS_B03, DS_D02p

is used when DS_D02p doesn't exist without DS+, find returns nothing, so nothing gets replaced. Same story for without DS+.

I could be mistaken on how these commands work though, which is why I tested it again.
a n 13 Jan @ 3:18pm
I use DS+ so I know the connections work with it installed. When I was trying to troubleshoot I believe I had DS+ disabled, but I should try it without again to be certain.
Tat011  [author] 13 Jan @ 11:36am
Does this work when DS+ is on and also when it's off?

This mod has a bug in DS. If you disable the cache alignment fix in CRS and grab items in DS_A16 or DS_DP_2, the game will crash the next time DS is loaded, which breaks the save if you hibernate in it.
The cause is the use of conditionals in the world_DS file under Modify/World/ds, in the [ADDAFTER_1] line, which adds the connections to the beginning of the ROOMS section and triggers the bug that the cache alignment fix patches. My suggestion to remedy this is to replace that line with the following:

[FINDLINE]DS_A16 : DS_B03, DS_A07
[REPLACE]DS_A16 : DS_B03, DS_A07, DS_DP2
[FINDLINE]DS_A16 : DS_B03, DS_D02p
[REPLACE]DS_A16 : DS_B03, DS_D02p, DS_DP2

And then adding the following to the [MERGE] section:

ROOMS
DS_DP2 : DS_DP1, DS_A16
DS_DP1 : GATE_DS_DP, DS_DP2
GATE_DS_DP : DS_DP1, DISCONNECTED : GATE
END ROOMS

Try testing things out yourself of course, but this let me use this mod with or without the cache alignment fix enabled in CRS.

I loved the beginning of this mod - I found it originally through the Memory Crypts exit and I probably am exploring it backwards. It's a really pretty atmosphere and I like the emphasis on platforming challenges. The bells during precycle rain HAVE to be turned down, they're loud enough to drown out the rest of the game audio and instead of ending after the precycle ends they play through the entire cycle. Also I like the shelter failure mechanic but the only two shelters in my area are flooded simultaneously (only one should break at a time like in Inv's campaign) and I'm kinda softlocked with the bell sound. Not a great feeling. The bubble weavers are a skillcheck and there could be a couple less for variety's sake but I think they're cool.
matizbelchatowa 7 Dec, 2024 @ 10:44am
I must say I'm very disapointed there is no custom pearl dialogue for Artificer :zote:
sniffledorf_ 29 Nov, 2024 @ 5:55pm
Also the bell is one of the factors that makes the Region unique
sniffledorf_ 29 Nov, 2024 @ 5:53pm
Its a Region jam Region
FӨЯGӨƬƬΣП MIЯЯӨЯ 22 Nov, 2024 @ 8:45pm
i feel like the author made the map but never actually played it.
FӨЯGӨƬƬΣП MIЯЯӨЯ 22 Nov, 2024 @ 8:44pm
ok i have extreme hate for this map, let me explain. bubble weavers have no business being in this map and as frequently spawned in the map(FFS why is there two spawns guarding a hibernate spot WTF) i literally got stuck during a rain wake cycle with no spears running in a circle for 2 real world hours from two bubble weavers camping me.

next i'd like to talk about the two screen caps and what we ultimately get. the map has was to much verticality with no indication of what direction you are supposed to go there were way to many times i thought i was meant to go down when you are meant to goto the right making me constantly kill myself on accident. i also have not seen the nice snow section in the cap (which is what i expected the map to mostly be)

lastly the F'ing BELL! dude no it needs to go! you get stuck in one wake rain section and you hear annoyance for like an hour from dying to bubble weavers.
lunarwasp 2 Nov, 2024 @ 8:34pm
why the hell are there so many bubbleweavers, they're so stupidly strong and fast that they immediately instakill me as soon as i exit the shelter and there's nothing i can do about it, how am i supposed to deal with this?(playing as survivor)
riley_ 11 Oct, 2024 @ 7:01pm
- okay, the lack of unique monk spawns is fine.
- "rainsong volume cannot be changed without editing the raw file itself" so are you gonna do that?
- fair enough, even if cyans are really cool.
- lineages being canon must just be another inconsistency between the lore of base game and downpour ig. also now that i'm checking the page for drowned pantheon on the rain world mods wiki it's clear the region does not care about consistency with creature spawns lol, there's king vultures and elite scavs for survivor and monk.
regardless, cool region. most of these issues are things i can easily look past. really amazing atmosphere, especially in those rooms around the shaded citadel gate with some pretty tough platforming.
Tat011  [author] 11 Oct, 2024 @ 6:42pm
-I dont see why i would change spawns for monk or what theyd be changed to.
-Rainsong volume cannot be changed without editing the raw file itself, blame RegionKit or CRS or whichever software makes it a thing.
-Strawberries are there because i didnt want to add Cyans to yet another past worldstate region.
Lineages are cannon, videocult has stated that it's a new creature moving in the place of an old one.
riley_ 11 Oct, 2024 @ 2:59pm
anyways so far the region's really cool, i love the visuals and the giant pole plants were a really good scare. feels like an expansion of shaded citadel, which is one of my favorite base game regions.
why are there strawberry lizards in spearmaster's version of drowned pantheon though? strawberry lizards aren't supposed to exist until saint's campaign (ignoring lineages which are arguably non-canon due to the rampant plot holes and contradictions with them)
riley_ 11 Oct, 2024 @ 2:55pm
exploring the region as spearmaster and i have a BIG critique already:
- rainsong is WAY TOO LOUD and should not loop. it outright jumpscared me when it started playing, and multiple parts of it are so loud they PEAK THE FUCKING AUDIO and you can barely hear ingame sound effects over it. and i know for a fact it loops because i looked at the youtube upload by ZombieManF where rainsong is only a little over 50 seconds long, yet i timed it by checking a clock and in-game it was playing for over 6 goddamn minutes.
both of these completely ruin the atmosphere rainsong is meant to provide. if you're able to copy stuff from vanilla/downpour regions (idk how region development works) you could copy the code involving the way moon siren is played in waterfront and submerged superstructure, since it's exactly the same as how i assume rainsong is meant to play.
riley_ 8 Oct, 2024 @ 10:19am
really cool region btw, although the fact it has the same spawns for monk and survivor is weird. like every vanilla region consistently has at least a few creature spawn changes for monk compared to survivor.
riley_ 8 Oct, 2024 @ 10:17am
it's not that big of an issue lol there's no reason to start an argument over it. i've had issues with drain mites before of getting stuck inside room transition pipes, just like several other people have (it's a known bug that's mentioned at the top of the drain mites mod description after all), but it's not like they're required for drowned pantheon.
i just brought it up cause i was confused why drowned pantheon has compatibility with them when they're currently broken and unsupported, but evidently the dev of drowned pantheon hasn't encountered issues with them. most people probably haven't reported having issues with drain mites in this region though because most people just don't have drain mites enabled.
Tat011  [author] 8 Oct, 2024 @ 4:21am
Have you even actually had an issue with drain mites in DP before you came here demanding i remove the optional feature?
Tat011  [author] 8 Oct, 2024 @ 4:03am
As i said I've had no issues with them when playing DP and if you do have issues you can just turn them off.
But please, keep acting like I'm the unreasonable one.
Gragyriss 8 Oct, 2024 @ 12:34am
Your the one acting unhinged. Mites are confirmed broken. Your a shite dev if thats how you respond to bug reports.
Tat011  [author] 1 Oct, 2024 @ 4:18pm
So what you're saying is that i should remove the OPTION to have them on because there broken... despite the fact that ive had no issues with them and no one has reported any issues with drain mites on this region.
How unhinged.
riley_ 1 Oct, 2024 @ 4:04pm
did you forget that you added drain mites compatibility to this mod? i'm saying that's unnecessary cause drain mites are broken and won't be fixed for a while
Tat011  [author] 1 Oct, 2024 @ 3:08pm
Uh, I'm not the drain mites developer.
riley_ 1 Oct, 2024 @ 10:28am
drain mites are still broken
Tat011  [author] 30 Sep, 2024 @ 1:24pm
thats not a region jam

ÆtherJester 27 Sep, 2024 @ 8:50pm
is it normal that the region only has Spitter spider spawns mostly?
I tried to play it as spearmaster but there was almost 9 red spiders in only 1 screen room
Fox Milk 27 Sep, 2024 @ 4:42pm
oh hey i worked on this back in the day... nice :D
Rigai_Ruc 27 Sep, 2024 @ 11:00am
i think anyone who checks the region called drowned pantheon would guess the "slug" "cat" will drown in there
