If my memory serves me right, I think those removed stairs from L4D1 on the fourth map of BloodHarvest actually used to be stone stairs instead of the wooden ones in the mod
Other then that this is a pretty cool mod :p

L4D2 was catered more towards Versus given how the maps were designed so it made sense for the L4D1 maps to use the Versus variants to fit in more with the sequel.

@Rise They used VS versions because they're more balanced and there is no need for seperate maps ever since "info_gamemode" entity was introduced.

This is interesting why Valve didn't add these stuff from to L4D1 campaign. They even removed crash course colors as well in L4D2 and completely changed map designs as well for L4D1 campaigns.

But can you move the stairs a little further forward?
It overlaps the fence object and it's annoying.
I suggest you move it so that it slightly touches the fence object.
