@Fred
Go to 108600\3342191739\mods\GydeTraitMagazines\42\media and open up sandbox-options.txt. In option GydeTraitMags.SpawnRate modify the default value to lower than 0.1, and I think that will work. Just make sure to select the Default option in the sandbox settings so you can use your desired value.
As an infected burger eating american, I was making a reference to the classic TV show catchphrase from"Iron Chef", in which contestants cooked with odd (non-american) ingredients. The french gave us fries and a cool statue, can't be too mad at them.
IDK what a 1091 is, I assume some sort of military division, but it's a strong title.
Excellent ideas, for Brave: "101 tips from 1091 Veterans"
But, Jeeze, Iron Gut being French tho?
I know our French friends eat buttered garden pests as a delicacy are famous for their stank-bum cheddar imitations, and also their breakfast is bread named solely for it's shape... but I don't think we're supposed to say that out loud. As a polite civilisation.
As an Englishman, who is genetically obligated to torment the French - it's not unlike dealing with one's younger siblings. We can be mean to the French, but nobody else can.
Let's call it "Cuisson Basse: Hákarl and Marmite on Chips"
(Entire comment is fun)
Please add the rest of the unique traits tho, my OCD is triggered.
I'd be happy to do the Textures + Icons to your liking, just add me! : )
=Jobs=
Park Ranger - Unsure if this one can be added since it doesn't show up in traits
Engineer- Same, but there is already a mod which adds these recipes so its OK
Desensitized - Could probably be added but there is a mod for this already
Night Owl: "REM & The Art of Napping"
- If you only added one, I'd hope it'd be this one.
=Traits=
Brave: No idea what this one would be called, but we have a mod for it already
Cat's Eyes: "The Hunt for Orange July"
Wakeful: "Coldbrews & You"
Iron Gut: "Allez! Cuisine!"
Light Eater: "Asceticism for Dummies"
Lucky: "Making Your Own Luck"
Resilient: "Gardening With Gut Flora"
Eagle Eyed: "Birding Quarterly"
Fast Healer: "Mind Over Matter"
Low Thirst: "Got Electrolytes?"
Adrenaline Junkie: "Daredevil's Greatest Stunts"
Thick Skinned: "On Sticks and Stones"
I am not sure if Cat Eyes or Eagle Eyes makes sense, but sense you already have Keen Hearing then those 2 being rare magazines could make sense. Like "Optometrists Guide To Healthy Vision" or something like that.
I think that this way, you could tweak the magazine find RNG chances much better, and have a more varied character runs. This would give a nice form of character progression/upgrades to accent a No Occupation character and give the game a more Roguelike feel.
I don't like going from negative trait INSTANTLY to the positive with one magazine. Or am I misunderstanding this and it works this way? good mod tho :)
Couldn't find anything in the description-
Does this possibly work with Simple Overhaul?
@Beathoven Unfortunately, I believe book pages are fixed and cannot be changed in-game after setting them. It's not really the same thing but you could set the days before reading to a higher number in the sandbox options.
Before this mod's update today, the magazines did not have a consumable option, so they are not deleted after being read, making the 2 step from -1 to 0 to +1 unnecessary. But since I added the option today to have magazines be consumable, I will likely make an option to have traits be 2 step.
I believe what is being discussed is basically if say ya have Sunday Driver it could be set to need two copies of the mag to go from -1 to +1 aka have Speed Demon? [I've def had this very similar thought to myself since adding this mod over one(s) that had individual traits like only Nutritionist]
@optprime.cpu Thank you for the suggestion! Unfortunately I don't think making a certain magazine spawn only after a few days is possible as from my understanding, item spawn rates are determined at the start of the game. I may add an option to make replacing negative traits with positive ones require 2 magazines though. (I didn't do it before since pre-consumable magazine update players could have just spammed the same magazine)
@Vermilion I have not tested personally but if they do not modify vanilla traits, it should work. Keep in mind though that depending on how ETW checks to add/remove traits, the traits you add/remove may be undone.
Both these questions have been added to an FAQ section since I get them quite often.
