@Gorigo Thanks :3
Gorigo 8 May @ 3:29am
Okay, good luck with this mod
AgentKirin  [author] 7 May @ 7:39pm
I think that was left over from my failed attempts at making the Astrofae passive until attacked. I've yeeted it now :3

There is an error with Better (but not broken) Asteroids about "queryRange", no idea about it maybe a conflict with a mod changing universe generation

It adds threat, dungeons to asteroids depending on start system + minimal threat for asteroids
AgentKirin  [author] 6 May @ 8:35pm
Might have to take a look. idk if whatever it does with dungeons works on entire asteroid belts, but thanks for pointing it out.
Kinsect 6 May @ 4:02pm
I think the new Belter Dungeons (and No Belter Dungeons) has something that you might be looking for when it come's to threat levels?
AgentKirin  [author] 10 Apr @ 11:29am
@Kinsect Yeah, the only way I know of to tie the threat level to the star system is to make a copy of the asteroids for each threat level, and that wouldn't be very conducive to mod compatibility or uninstall-friendliness.
Kinsect 8 Apr @ 7:20pm
finally found a tier 1 asteroid belt ^^;;
dang I'm unlucky XD
Kinsect 8 Apr @ 7:18pm
Dang I just keep finding asteroid belts in the threat level 5 area ^^;;
I'm guessing I'm just unlucky ^^;;
(I really need Tungsten for a build XD)
AgentKirin  [author] 16 Mar @ 4:35pm
@Kinsect Arcana doesn't change asteroids. I use both mods together and it works fine :3
Kinsect 16 Mar @ 4:08pm
Say do we need this if we have Arcana?
I'm not sure of other mods that change Asteroids but I now know that Arcana changes Planet generation, idk if it's the same for Asteroids as well ^^;;
AgentKirin  [author] 4 Feb @ 7:12pm
@ChakaTheMossy The ores present are supposed to go with the threat level, and titanium is set to 0 for T1 in here. You might have another mod that's altering the ore distribution.

As for asteroid belts, their threat levels can be anywhere from 1-6 and idk how to tie them to the star tier without making a bunch of copies.
ChakaTheMossy 4 Feb @ 2:23pm
Before you ask, yes, you could try compensate that by making asteroids useful for making money some other way
ChakaTheMossy 4 Feb @ 2:18pm
how about you make ONLY the proper ores generate above planets? When I was looking for Precursomium to debug, I found titanium on tier 1 planet. That is not good, imo
AgentKirin  [author] 25 Jan @ 2:57pm
@Ogamest This mod shouldn't outright break anything if used alongside FU (afaik), but it doesn't have the Frackin' ores in it.
Ogamest 8 Jan @ 6:32am
Tell me, does your mod support ores from the Frackin' Universe?

Adding onto the carbon talk, though I'm not much of a nerd: maybe the Matter Manipulator automatically collects gasses for use in elaborate chemical formulae. For example: storing hydrogen to atomically bond with the carbon in graphite to form hydrocarbons. Synthetic coal, if you will. After all, hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe. The universe wouldn't mind if we took some.

This can explain the more unusual uses for coal in crafting recipes, like in synthetic material and silicon boards. One wouldn't bat an eye at graphite being used in such recipes, but coal??? Hence perhaps the graphite is stored as graphite but when needed the matter manipulator turns it into a hydrocarbon. Visually the two are fairly similar. Most spacefaring peoples with matter manipulators probably don't need to know the difference anyway. Even today most don't need to know the difference between coal and coal but further metamorphosed.

...maybe I am a nerd :SBchicken:
AgentKirin  [author] 21 Dec, 2024 @ 7:35pm
Thanks for catching that. Should be fixed now :3

A lot of carbon either in Earth, other planets, or in space can come in the form of graphite which can burn for fuel though not as good as coal.
lechkingofdead 2 Dec, 2024 @ 10:04pm
with a little bit of wokr im shure you can burn carbon anyway. just need to soak that fucker in oil and im SHURE its gonna go alite really well. thats my head cannon to novakid space trains. they soak the coal for exstra boom.
AgentKirin  [author] 22 Oct, 2024 @ 7:30pm
idk, tbh. I just included coal in a classic case of "internal consistency > realism". Still neat that it's not completely out of left field.

(Nerding out is perfectly fine as long as you're civil. Which you have been :3)
Void Entity 22 Oct, 2024 @ 6:44pm
Well sure, but, can that really be considered functionally similar to coal? I doubt you could just toss it in a furnace and burn it.

(Sorry if this seems pedantic for such an unrealistic game but I'm a huge space nerd)
AgentKirin  [author] 21 Oct, 2024 @ 5:02pm
Fun Fact: There are meteorites IRL that contain carbon: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbonaceous_chondrite

Space is so cool :3
Monturrock 19 Oct, 2024 @ 9:03pm
Hmm... Coal in space... Must be leftovers from the great Coal Rush the Novakid had when they discovered the ancient petrified space forests near the center of the Heartwood Sector...

Either that or in the spirit of a Rocky and Bullwinkle episode outro...

Baby it's Coal outside!-The space station!

--------
But in all seriousness... maybe this is one of the ways the Novakid power their space trains?

And depending on what mods a Starbound Universe is built upon, finding coal deposits in silicate space potatoes where a giant planet busting monster exists which had a history of turning planets into space junk until it was put on time-out by a big spacesuit clad construct for a few milllenia could either make a bit or a bunch of sense... :SBmm:

@[BEES] Void Entity To make it consistent with Betabound, which also adds coal (among other things) to asteroids.
Void Entity 14 Oct, 2024 @ 12:32pm
why do they have coal 😭 coal is a biological substance😭
