Not impossible. RNG generators can be implemented, but without loops it would be an RNG generator per dice which adds up quickly. I may look more into it at some point
The Digitization is pleased to announce the grand success of their optimization efforts as Tic-Tac-Toe reclaims it's spot as the smallest game on HonkOS with a comfortable lead at just 31 components.
The Digitization Department at the Grand Circus acknowledges this honker’s thoughtful input and laments, with great theatrical flair, the ongoing flood of complex game proposals, despite our repeated cries for simplicity. We’ve long petitioned for a Subdepartment for the Coming Up With Good Ideas for the Digitization Department (SCUWGIDD), but alas, HonkOS’s immense success has led to funding channels being tangled in pranks.
On a brighter note, as highlighted in a recent press release, we’ve achieved impressive optimization feats! Our latest game, Four-Field Kono, now boasts the fewest components of any HonkOS title—just 54, compared to Tic-Tac-Toe’s 64, despite its complexity. These advancements showcase the department’s continued progress, and retrofitting older games to benefit from these optimizations is now our top priority.
i love it with all my bike horn shaped heart
Ok, I think I fixed it. Turns out I've had 2 copies of HonkOS and was working on the one that wasn't synced to the workshop so when I tried to update it would just send the old (synced and broken) version again. It should be fine now.
There is a potential issue where if 2 signals arrive at the same time to the same pin, they'll be ordered in the order that the components they're originating from were created.
I have at least once uploaded a version where I accidentally flipped the order of displaing a clearing the terminal resulting in the sane behaviour you're describing so please check if you have the latest version.
I may have also uploaded the latest version with the same issue, I'll have to check when I get back home.
That said, I'm not sure if the order components were originally created is preserved through steam workshop, though it is when copy-pasting in sub editor so I'd assume it should. I'd need someone to confirm they have this issue on a latest version where I know for sure it didn't occur before uploading to workshop.
I do have a way to fix it if it turns out the component creation order is not properly preserved after all.
