Obviously you would have to check every time an addon file changes. That's hard to build. You would need to know if something is mounted or will be and if it's checksum has even changed.

Like a review bomb it usually has a bigger meaning that's not related but in alignment.

Lets make something to check our addons. See if they are tainted. That's the first step .

I think it's pointless to target a set of steamids and is questionable. You will never stop someone from using something you created unless you never share it.

I am no expert but if we had essentially a script that unpacked all addons and searched for problematic code every time you launch it would really help!

People already keep copies of deleted, banned or untainted versions of tainted addons as as you never know when your favourite addon will be yanked. Either because of steam or the author wanting to make a statement.

I replaced my mothers windows XP Internet Explorer icon with a script to make a box appear saying your computer is infected and it will explode in: S seconds. A simple shutdown command in the end. I was 7 at the time and didn't understand that it could cause damage. Not to the computer but to the user.

It's really not as black and white.

The real problem is no one want's to design a system to actively prevent harmful content without taking away functionality. So in fear people come down brutally on small things.
I do not endorse putting in code that makes your game crash but I hate ones that permanently damage data or settings!

@NextKurome76TheSodier added code to crash your game when you match a list of steamids or when you have a skibidi toilet addon. It didn't really cause damage to anything except your ability to play. Once you figured out that you simply would disable the addon. Either via enabling and disabling or by using critical thinking. We all have had to find an addon that did something we didn't want but didn't know which one it was. Either because of a bug or because of weird behaviour.

it was a simple random timed crasher that either crashes around 16 blacklisted users or everyone that uses a skibidi addon

@Unknown Developer, I don't remember any of Kurome's Addon that have some malicious content. Maybe I just missed them, but can you give some examples of them?

add the fact that this Unknown Developer dude loves to spread false information & claims the fact that 90% of kurome's addons including navmeshes and maps are stolen.

the lad from the Alium down there thought it would be a good idea to report the only guy fighting against skibidi toilet users and thinks that a crash script against said skibidi users is malicious. Hence me being permanently workshop banned
