I find it distracting and do not want to use AV because I go cross-eyed every time I switch.
tripping balls, better than I thought
I've tried a lot of alien visions, got VERY used to the Huze and Uke's Minimal, but found that they lacked any character or sense of organic feel - they just felt like an overlay. This version of the alien vision is genuinely excellent.
Pros: Thematically coloured alien vision gives far more immersive feel, no fps drop, no confusion of what entity is what, trippy LSD style waveform of colouring which actually adds massively to depth perception once you get used to the colourchange frequency rate (especially when compared to the monocular feel of the default alien vision!) and actually easy enough on the eyes that it can be left on throughout a game.
Cons: Not really a 'con', but the changeover between normal and alien vision doesn't look quite there - I'd suggest a cone-shape of change expanding from the center of the alien viewpoint :D
