I use it with Kams reskin

Hi. Is this mod compatible with any 'historical' reskins available in the workshop?

Euridamo 7 Feb @ 10:05am
Thank you hehe some pictures would be good
Woah, more updates. My man!
Kelly Bomaye  [author] 7 Feb @ 9:30am
The recent update includes an additional ~120 of the vanilla models edited or reworked, new Egyptian shields and new textures for existing shields (this did require some editing of unit variant meshes and will conflict with any mods re-skinning those particular Egyptian units.

Lmk, if there's any visual bugs like clipping that need fixed.
Euridamo 26 Nov, 2024 @ 4:26am
Thank you so much. Original models looked almost like fantasy. Now they are much better.
Hetairos 17 Nov, 2024 @ 1:31am
Thanks for the update. They do look good without. Maybe better. Only there's a clipping issue with some skin now showing where the pauldrons used to be.
Matthew39 16 Nov, 2024 @ 10:08am
@Pyrrhos09 Just load up the custom battles, choose Mycenae and pick any higher tier armoured units. You'll see the changes to pauldrons instantly.
Kelly Bomaye  [author] 16 Nov, 2024 @ 9:10am
@Hetairos; Originally l reshaped the pauldrons a bit because I wasn’t sure if they looked right without them, but after your comment and I removed them again and they look fine without. I’ll be updating later today.

my mistake...so did you redisgn any Achean - Aegean units??
could you list them if so or upoload any photos??thx...
Hetairos 15 Nov, 2024 @ 3:03am
Sorry for the cloak thing on the assyrian troops I'm an idiot I still had Kam's mod on. That said the golden spearmen pauldron problem is still there (no other mod on appart from better camera mod)
Kelly Bomaye  [author] 12 Nov, 2024 @ 11:32am
@pyrrhos; I didn't redesign the units, I edited the models which means the units maintain the same outfit/weapons as before but if the unit had an armor model that I edited, it will reflect the change
bill09xatz 12 Nov, 2024 @ 11:10am
Have you re-designed any Aegean units??and if yes can you list them??
Thx for you great work!!!!
Matthew39 10 Nov, 2024 @ 11:45pm
Wow, thanks for the lighting-speed update! :D
Kelly Bomaye  [author] 10 Nov, 2024 @ 4:36pm
@Matthew39; Good looks! It was the last in a set of 6 and I had done the other 5, must have skipped over it on accident. Thanks for letting me know! It's fixed and mod updated.
Matthew39 10 Nov, 2024 @ 4:19pm
Could you have a look at the pauldrons of the Veteran Phrygian Mercenaries unit?

Imo they could use your removal treatment :D
Kelly Bomaye  [author] 8 Nov, 2024 @ 9:18am
@hetairos; I don’t edit any of the variantmeshes in this mod, just the models. I don’t think any units in vanilla use the armor with the cape. The screenshot is a unit from my multiplayer resurrection mod that has new rosters.
Hetairos 7 Nov, 2024 @ 8:57am
this makes the weird and ugly armors so much better thanks. Although still not a big fan of the cloak on one of the assyrian armor. Looks great on generals but not on the troops but that's fine I guess. Still i found a glitch with one of the variants of the golden spearmen armor, the left pauldron

Is it possible to have both vanilla and edited variants alongside each other, or would that require a separate reskin mod that uses both?

I agree that I prefer a more authentic appearance for troops (and generals and faction leaders, but we have to deal with the hand we've been dealt), but I also don't mind a healthy level of leeway and speculation. The historical artefacts and records we have are only a fraction of all there used to be, and surely don't represent every outlying case. Maybe a few warriors were wealthy enough to commission some extra protection for themselves, or could only salvage a basic khopesh, etc. Not every second man, but a subtly noticeable amount.

It would be one hell of an ask, but if this were to become a modder's resource of edited models, that'd help add a lot of variety to the game, especially if we won't see many more updates or official content packs.

Simple yet effective, thanks for this!
xpldrox 4 Nov, 2024 @ 9:01pm
Great mod! Thx for that, felt like I've playing some AI made game with warcraft armors that weight more than a human can carry. Keep up!
Kelly Bomaye  [author] 4 Nov, 2024 @ 9:35am
@Kam; I had no idea they were called pauldrons hahah thank you for that! But yes I’ve felt the same for a while and finally just went through and removed them. The ones I couldn’t remove I resized and/or reshaped to be less egregious. I had to edit ~50 of the carry over models from Troy alone.
KNOCK KNOCK IT'S ME, Big BIRB 4 Nov, 2024 @ 8:38am
Nice
kam2150 4 Nov, 2024 @ 12:21am
Love it!

A lot of ingame models would be pretty accurate but they have a bunch of pauldrons added for no reason.
