The Scorpion Incident

Currently simply no way to master it.

Detection and hunting of the Scorpion is possible. Close in on his "dark zone" on the other side of the layer and peak on his side to scout him then hide on the other side. Over and over again.

Reaching torp range is hard but possible.

But russian torps on Victor I or II are simply to weak. Range and speed is a joke in this engagement. In most cases torps miss to lock on when fired above 5 miles. On the other hand the us torps are fast as hell with good seekers and range.

Best case is a draw with both sunk. No way to avoid his snap shots at 5 nm even if you are on his six. As the russian asw torps are active sonar there is always a snap shot as the Scorpion gets his wake-up call on russian torp launches.

Possible solution: Give at least one russians sub (era conform) stand off ("flying") torps or more powerful asw torps. Please erase second us sub; hard enough with one Scorpion.

Thank you for your efforts, really enjoying your scenarios.

Ok I'll adjust the mission.

As others have said, this mission is currently impossible. The Scorpion's torpedoes always find me and hit me no matter what I do. Even if I keep emcon and dive the Scorpion's torpedoes will still find me and I can never find it. Overall a very frustrating scenario at the moment.

Enemy torp 20 nm away. I'm at 1100 ft down below the layer at 5 knots. Enemy finds me every time even if I'm stopped. Enemy torp is above layer 190 feet I'm moving at 5 knots torp can find me no matter where i am or what depth im at. whats the point of a layer if it doesn't stop any sound. i can not finish this scenario the enemy sub always finds me first, no matter my speed or heading. Torps me before i even get close enough to launch my own fish. i don't think its the scenario i think the game is just bugged for american torps.

I cannot for the life of me finish this scenario. The Scorpion's torpedos always find me, and mine never find his, despite me firing first, or me diving, or me doing anything really.
