FYI: someone has re-uploaded this mod to steam without crediting the original author (and I assume without permission based on their attitude and descriptions): https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3494937151

Hi bravlin. This is not a fashion question) But I wanted to know if you could create a mod that would allow you to make canned food that does not have an infinite shelf life, but with an end date, so that they would also spoil?
CrazyEXP 13 Jan @ 5:36am
I'm not sure if this just happens to me or I'm using incompatible mods, but whenever I saw logs my character doesn't equip the saw and instead the current tool's durability in my primary slot (even guns) is used.
Depresión Severa 4 Jan @ 2:50pm
This mod would be good if Propane torches had a way to be repaired along with all the others tools that can't be patched up.
wop 19 Dec, 2024 @ 9:56pm
idk sunshine, Ive been using the same tools my dad had and they are still as good as a charm
UnrealVenn 17 Dec, 2024 @ 4:39pm

Very, very broken: saws simply disappear from the inventory, and tools lose condition randomly when fast fowarding time or even just doing nothing.
Sky Wise Guy 26 Nov, 2024 @ 7:33pm
Regarding the disappearance of saws and logwrenches - this mod makes these tools weapons by changing the type of items, so they disappear in explored areas when install/uninstall this mod. But they can be found again in UNexplored areas of the map.
Sky Wise Guy 26 Nov, 2024 @ 7:24pm
Different tools have different durability. Hammers and screwdrivers, as many have reported, break after literally 10 uses (the durability settings do not affect this in any way), and saws are very durable - you can saw dozens of logs without damaging the saw. It seems that durability values only affect the tools that this mod makes weapons (saws and log wrenches), while vanilla weapon-tools (hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches) are very fragile, and the durability settings of this mod do not apply to them.

Great idea for a mod, the mod works, just needs to fix the bug with the durability of vanilla weapon-tools.
brännhesslan 21 Nov, 2024 @ 12:54am
I like the idea of this mod. Adding the realism for tools to degrade over time.
HOWEVER, the tools are lasting a little to short for my taste and after uninstalling the mod it created a bug which despawned ALL lugswrenches, garden saws and saws.
I will be unsubscribing for now and get back to this mod at a later time were it is more stable.
7enebriss 20 Nov, 2024 @ 1:48pm
As many before me have already said, I love the idea but the execution leaves something to be desired. Even at max durability settings, high carpentry and high maintenance you're lucky to get even ten uses out of a single hammer. I really hope this gets corrected because I would love to play with this enabled but right now it just makes things far too tedious.
trashcanhands 20 Nov, 2024 @ 9:26am
I have to agree with most people here. The tools break far too quickly. I really like the idea of having to replace them eventually but not after like 10 uses. And that's with the durability/damage settings max/min. Wider ranges in the sandbox settings would be enough to fix this.
JoJo 19 Nov, 2024 @ 10:07pm
After many hours of playing, I discovered two serious problems. Sometimes it is not the tool itself that breaks, but the previous used item. The strength of a hammer with one hundred percent condition is enough for about 3-8 fully barricaded windows, which is quite small, I do not think that in reality the hammer will break so quickly. I really like the idea of the mod, but we need to allow more flexible settings.
PbnJillSandwich 19 Nov, 2024 @ 4:17am
This mod breaks the propane torches after a certain number of uses, and they cannot be repaired as with some other tools such as the hammer and saw.
Darkswirl 17 Nov, 2024 @ 7:36pm
Having the same thing happen as MobileSuitCleb, but I'm not sure if that's something outside the scope of this mod or if it can even be fixed as I think it's something that occurs in vanilla.
MobileSuitCleb 17 Nov, 2024 @ 8:28am
still able to scrap chairs etc with a broken hammer!
Mint_A 17 Nov, 2024 @ 12:23am
same issue like Fluorine.
Shendi16 16 Nov, 2024 @ 10:11am
I also have the same issue as Fluorine.
SiCK 15 Nov, 2024 @ 3:33pm
i have the same problem like Fluorine
Fluorine 15 Nov, 2024 @ 2:15pm
I ran into the problem that after installing the mod, all the saws and keys for removing the wheels disappeared. they disappeared from the players' inventory, from the boxes, from the cars. I also couldn't find them anywhere in the city in more than an hour. I see that they wrote about such a problem below.

Skapman 14 Nov, 2024 @ 2:27am
@lordzarmack and you could use a crowbar to beat an approximately infinite number of people to death, yet weapon durability is still a thing in-game. the point is to make it so that you don't just get your hammer/saw/screwdriver and then never need to look for tools again.
LordZarmack 13 Nov, 2024 @ 10:32am
I'm still using a British made tool set and torque wrench handed down to me from my grandfather who was given it when he worked at bae, from his mentor that was made during 1920's and it's still shiny and perfect despite over 90+ years of service.

Old British made steel doesn't rust... in fact it don't break or degrade at all.
This torque wrench and tool kit will long outlive me and my children.
EHOT 12 Nov, 2024 @ 9:14pm
Hi. Will it be possible to create a mod that will spoil Canned Food?. Some time later. and then I noticed that it's TOO easy to survive with a lot of Preserves. Even if you bet on very little.
Rokko 12 Nov, 2024 @ 5:12pm
are you gonna fix your other mods?
Kexx 12 Nov, 2024 @ 3:06pm
I may not use every mod you make, but hot damn, I LOVE every mod you make!! So well done, customizable for everyone's preferences, excellent mod presentation as well, just top notch work! I always look forward to what you'll think of next!
Come and See 12 Nov, 2024 @ 10:07am
Does this effect propane torches as well?
AstrayCuriosity 12 Nov, 2024 @ 10:00am
Holy shit. I were dreaming for mod like this for such a long time. I have no words. 5 bleach glasses at my expense :bleach::bleach::bleach::bleach::bleach:
Fix_ur_glitches 12 Nov, 2024 @ 9:00am
hi, i'm not sure if its this mod and i could be wrong (pls do correct me) but its the last thing i subscribed to when it happened. so uh, all my saws disappeared. The one i have in my base (rusty rifle) and the ones in the warehouse near the rusty rifle and that's only after i enabled the mod. I have yet to check the other warehouses to see if they spawn there or not. Will update when I can. Also, no error indicators or anything so it just happened. Ty.

I can write a proper document thread later. Enjoy! :spiffo:
Braven  [author] 12 Nov, 2024 @ 8:38am
Tool degradation is very low by default. You can tweak this in the settings. Your tools won't break in a handful of uses. Also, items like Saws now have condition too and can be used as improvised weapons. You can also repair them.
podagros 12 Nov, 2024 @ 3:23am

Two words "THANK YOU"
Prof.24K 11 Nov, 2024 @ 5:19pm
should they tho? i still have a hammer that my grandpa used to build his house with and its still as solid as ever. a well tempered crowbar of quality steel is super unlikely to break period same with almost any well made and maintained tool. plus you can rehandle most tools with just a long piece of wood and a sharp knife. adding sharpening and rehandling and handle patching instead of full breaks would be realistic cuz you will never break the sedge hammer or axe head. the only breakeable and unfixable weapon should be the katana, machete and knifes as youd have too completely reforge them
Gimbo 11 Nov, 2024 @ 5:26am
how the skill affect thed egradation? btw great mod!
Darkswirl 10 Nov, 2024 @ 10:08pm
Won't be able to use this myself for a few days, but how does degradation affect tools without condition such as saws? Does it just turn them into functional items like the hammer is, or does this mod only work with tools already set up like the hammer?
Язык 10 Nov, 2024 @ 9:52pm
как всегда хорошо:steamthumbsup::spiffo:
[12FN]Night Monkey 10 Nov, 2024 @ 9:44pm
Love this, Always wanted this. No matter how well built the hammer might be, It should still degrade. I would love to see a version (As the tools degrade, The longer it takes to complete a task. So 100% is 100% of the speed, 50% is half the speed to saw logs, Build, or Weld) Gives more an insensitive to keep tools maintained.
aquelarrefox 10 Nov, 2024 @ 6:41pm
yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss saw degradation

its posible add 2 modded saws (hacksaw from junk metal metal and back saw from tool of the trade)

I was waiting for this moments for years now you cannot build a city with a single saw...... emotive time bro
Erok 10 Nov, 2024 @ 2:50pm
I've always wanted this... thank you.
aquelarrefox 10 Nov, 2024 @ 1:01pm
Saw? Degradated saw? If this is possible, as a whitelist to make degradable modded tools.
