I'm calling it successful after clearing out all the known threats (30+) between my SAG and the objective, became impossible to play as a slideshow in the end but the tough bits were over and just needed some mopping up.
Really cool to fight a layered and an objectively superior force, but the current AI implementation meant a LOT of aircraft micromanaging and frustration.
That beginning was insane, but if you survive that it becomes a really cool puzzle to engage all the enemy surface groups with your limited arsenal.
