Turns out it is this mod. After going through most, this mod makes aircraft circle it about 10 times before they decide to come in and land and that severely plugs up the landing operations. I hope the owner makes a fix for that. It's nice to have all of the elevators but not if it takes aircraft an extra 8 minutes to land

Oh the landing time is related to this mod? I was wondering what was going on with it. It takes forever when I have a flight of 10 aircraft coming back. I set up checkpoints for them. My biggest gripe are the static objects parked on the lifts. I assume that's this mod that's covering them. It only allows half the lifts on the Nimitz to be used

Ive tried multiple mods that allow full use of carrier decks and none of them have worked..

So I´m sure you´ve already considered this, but... if having the four elevators active means no "atrezzo" (static planes and personnel on deck), and having only two elevators means the full atrezzo... would it be possible to reach a compromise? Like having three elevators up and running and one with static stuff? Maybe make it so between different missions it varies which elevators are active and which ones are not?

For the ultimate realistic experience, maybe it would be possible to make it random? Something between two and three with the added randomness of which elevators are active?

Sorry I'm just a bit confused. I have unsubbed/resubbed, whilst I run NTU as well as a compatibility patch that I saw, it doesn't seem like this works? There are the parked planes which prevent all 4 elevators working, is this something that can't be fixed?

You can do that but all planes of one type are removed. So all the f14s would be removed. And all the a6s. As well as canopies of all aircraft. So either the remaining planes would not have the glass in their canopy or there would be floating glass. It does not really look that good. Instead I created the half capability version.

If I understand correctly, the static planes on the deck are basically all one group. If removed it's either an all or nothing thing? it's not possible to remove just the planes off of the other elevators to make all 4 of them functional while still leaving a few static planes on the deck?

@Robbo_B The problem is, it is impossible to remove certain aircraft without changing the original model. The developers, for some reason I cant understand, packed all the deco planes' glass and windows in one submod called [Canopies].
So if you dont delete it there would be floating glasses and if you delete it the plane kept would have no cockpit windows.

I would also love to see some aircraft kept on deck where they're not obstructing elevators. The carriers look quite empty without them

I can check to make sure but I don’t think I have changed the timing for landing at all or if I have it is reduced. For me it has always been 2 in the pattern. The Nimitz is just slower because of the extra low pass.

I think this makes aircraft recovery a lot slower because it's using the rear right elevator to store the planes instead of getting them immediately off of the landing strip.
With the vanilla you usually have 2 planes in the pattern, with this mod active it's just 1 till the recovered plane is almost on the elevator.

You say preset point. Do you mean where planes go once taking off? I can’t change that per plane but I could move it forward more so it’s not so annoying. Unless you mean something different.

just tried this out and was doing a mass launch of alot of wings and after the first wing or so.. the 1st elevator stopped functioning

Yea it is an item that is in the wrong submodel. There is nothing I can do about it but I need to do some more testing then create a bug report. However this is such a small detail that can only be noticed if modifying files so I don't want to report that right now!

Mod was working yesterday but now only works with one "custom/mod" mission but none of the others or the vanilla ones like it used too, just curious as to what is the cause. like is it something on my end maybe. love this mod though hope you can keep with the project :)

UPDATE: Fixed the clipping that was caused by cat 4 plane arriving before cat 3. The issue is still there but only after launching 2 dozen planes or more in the same go. To update just unsub and resub

the order of taking off has a problem that when 4 planes take off at same time, plane on the fourth catapult has the priority than third from right to left,then happens the model overlap together

On a carrier like the Nimitz, might I suggest swapping which catapults the stern elevators take aircraft to? This would ensure the planes launch in an order that doesn't clip each other. The port elevator goes to the closest catapult, and the starboard goes to the one immediately to it's right but further forward. Given the delay in taxi coming from the starboard elevator it results in them clipping each other, as this plane is prepping for launch when the other on the catapult further back is actively launching?

I downloaded this mod but I haven't activated it yet because I don't like seeing the deck without other aircraft parked. I like to see the deck full (including the crew). When you manage to make this update this will be the best mod in the workshop.

As for compatibility with other mods if you put this one above the other in the load order you should get this version of the carrier, but may miss out on any potential upgrades to the ship. You could try to put the other mod above this one in the load order and see if it works but if the other mod has a Nimitz file it would likely override this mod.

Right now I can’t separate the different static models and so I would need to move them somehow and that would be a lot more complex. I’ll look into it and see if I can get a version with the static aircraft and equipment still on deck.

I don't know if this can even be adjusted but just a little visual thing, when using the angled catapults on the left the plane at the back sometimes launches first and hits the wing of the other one, visual only of course.

So this works pretty great so far, I have found that the rear left elevator lift when a plane is launching from it and aircraft are on final approach it gets stuck untill all the planes land I have a screenshot if you want it.
