All these mods and I always end up just eyeballing and using Head Cannon to say, if there is water on the deck, cant risk men on it. And also, cant run above slowest speed.

@Kraft you can tweak the amount of water-level that is required to throw you out of the gun, by editing following file:
\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\494840\3367790887\Source
ModifyUseGun.cs

the line you have to edit:
private const float disableThreshold = 0.6f; // Schwellenwert für die Deaktivierung

The higher the number, more water is required to throw you out.
I would stay below 1.0 or the mod is pretty useless.

unfortunately it is way too restrictive, on a clear day, nearly no waves no wind but I get kicked off the gun every 1 or 2 shots. Even when visually no water is washing over it gets locked. If it were a little less restricted this mod would be amazing but as it stands, it just makes the deckgun too unusable.

I mean gunning while water washes onto the deck is not that cool.

Maybe add where if the waters are very bad it can sweep people and overboard them.
there can be a hesitation from sailors if they are too scared to go on the deckgun if its too water washed and sometimes cowardice cases.

If a man goes overboard the deckgun by sailors [not including leading officers] a sailor who is also helping the leading officer can make a cowardice case and will go back inside due to water washing and the man overboardment.

Great idea but it seems almost impossible to get a true sea state independent of wind speed. Too bad. It's back to the honor system.

@MaGlas no issue mate. I’ve had it in since you posted it and it’s a great mod. I love it. I mean, you can only do so much with what the game provides right.

I think there should be more leniency with the disable mechanic, I really like the idea of the mod but I dont believe a slight spray and 1 inch of water over the deck would make the crew let go of the deck gun.

Honestly? it needs a mod? Even Silent Hunter 3 deactivates the deck cannon when the waves wash over the deck, and you don't need a mod for that.

@Baller, there sadly aren´t any values that I can find that define the "sea state". There is only the "wind speed", which was used by an outdated mod here on the workshop to disable the deckgun. Sadly low windspeed doesn´t always mean low waves in this game, thats why I went with this approach.

Amazing and FINALLY. I believe I had something like this back in the day for one of the SHs. Been waiting fer someone to put this up for Uboat. Is it possible to make a version that is just tied to the sea state?
