ive made similar of my own with 30 chain long STABLE pistons with moddrill on end, im just looking for auto space miners that dont req 100 steps to make work

Now it probably won't explode thanks to the very recent update they just released. Pistons won't overextend any longer if blocked if I understand correctly. I'm resubscribing and testing now!!

The projector only allows to create a single part (i.e grid), so you can't create it with the projector, like any other ship have at least one rotor or piston.

If i try to use a projector to create it, as i wanted to build it in survival, the actual strain does not show. - any bug?

Thx ! Well it's made more to be looked at than used. A simple sqaure of drills is going to be more efficient and reliable than this.

Hmm. Perhaps they tried to expand immediately after it spawned or something and was blocked. Unfortunately I'm not a physics major or a computer expert, so I don't have a clue as to how I'd fix this. It's a shame too, I really wanted to use this ship. Thanks all the same for providing such a wonderful creation.

I havn't played for a while, but as far as I know pistons explode if you try to expand/stretch them when they are blocked. Also landing gears sometimes remain locked when they are not supposed to be. Now if you have landing gears in contact with pistons, like in this ship, there is a chance that it explodes if there are glitches. I never tested this ship outside of a local game.

I understand that, so I'm trying to figure out why it exploded more than why it keeps spinning. Or am I missing something?

So recently I subscribed to this awesome looking ship, and I wanted to try it out, who wouldn't? Well, I pasted the ship from my blueprints (F10, double-click blueprint, Ctrl-V if you need the process I used), and then immediately everything went haywire. It looked like the front end of the ship had a small explosion, then it started spinning and going everywhere. Eventually, while letting it do it's thing, it ended up going as far as 10 km with no signs that it would stop spinning through space. So my question is, what happened? Did I do something wrong? Has this happened to anyone else? Please help, I really want to try this ship out, but I can't even catch up to it when I spawn it.

You're probably trying to paste it on a server with pistons/rotors/etc limits that are below what the ship contains. This ship is outdated anyway, it's not designed for planets.

Why do i get the message "Cannot place. Ship would exceed regualtions" when try to paste it in? Anyone else get this?

For a great and clangy fireworks show, spawn this in the current version.

Yep, pasting was the issue, you can't build it off of a BP and have it work. For those that don't know how to paste, F10 to the blueprints menu, select ok, then use Ctrl+V to paste the object.

Wait.. You pasted it, I built it off a BP.. Perhaps thats where I went wrong.

@Morndenkainen No idea. It worked the last time i pasted it. Maybe a patch broke it, or it's just a temporary bug,dunno.

Ran into a problem on the blueprint. There's no drill bit or landing gear. What gives?

This is a great ship, but I had it in creative with block destruction/damage off, set it to run, go away for 2 min and come back to find the drill part at 90* to the main body! I was laughing my arse off! It was still trying to drill and the pistons were still connected. Then it suddenly exploded and it went CRAZY! It was spinning wildly, going everywhere, I tried to stop it but it was too far gone. Good times. Oh, I also used it to drill through a huge ship I found, works a treat!

@distronic It's not a mod, it's a blueprint. Paste it using your blueprint menu.

@Leviathan431 It does lag yes, espacially when you mine. Lots of pistons and thrusters, so lots of physics calculations.

Am I the only one that gets a monstrous amount of lag (framerate drop)? I have a beast pc too, I can't figure out why.

In survival the blueprint doesn't include the pistons and drills, help would be appreciated.

@Synesthesiá Not at the moment. After 300 hours of SE i got bored. Maybe i'll play again in some time, i don't know, whenever i'll feel likt it. But you'll definatly see me on Mediaval Engineers at day one :P

@StarCore They seem to cut off all of the inner portions with projectors but you have enough screenshots where it can be re-constructed. Are you working on any new projects?

@Synesthesiá Thanks for your comment. I saved the blueprint with all moving parts retracted land locked with either landing gears or connectors so that it can fly around without exploding. I'm not sure that's enough for the projector though.

Is there any chance that you can build this ship with the arms retracted, so that projectors can assist with reconstruction.

Also, this is a brilliant ship design and I cannot wait to try it. This is good work, and I hope to see more!
