The high ram usage is due to the million of trees. I can explain how I did it if you are ever interested.
Otherwise, this is an AMAZING layout, as everyone has said. I do believe that John would be proud to know his layout lives on in the hearts of so many people, and that he inspired so many model railroaders long after his layout was sadly lost. Thank you so much, each and every one of you, for bringing this fantastic railroad back to life in the virtual world!
The only thing is it feels like it's always running at 30fps regardless of settings. eg my CPU/GPU are each running between 30-40% load with everything on max @1440p, Reducing the graphics settings doesn't help, eg setting everything to low/off doesn't increase fps, it keeps the same 30fps resulting in a lower 15-25% CPU/GPU load. RAM not an issue as it says I have 18GB free (I have 32GB total RAM). Monitor is running 180Hz and toggling Vsync on/off also makes no difference. Any ideas? or is this an RL optimisation / driver issue thing? Would love to explore this layout in VR but due to the low fps, not sure I want to try it.
Truly Awesome & Thensome!
I'll give an example, on one of the large bridges there are just wagons sitting there, No engine to pull them with odd-spacing between trucks as if there should be more wagons between them.
