I like the idea, but the colors feel a little too desaturated for some of the class variants, such as the Medic one.

really good idea, i like that it's for all class instead of just 1 (like most other gloves) so you dont gotta buy 9 gloves for each class
and i like that all have unique designs

@EddieM @mitka @blargoh I have added a paintable non-unique style. The cuffs are paintable are on every class except Medic. :) Images should be updated soon-ish.

We need this or else bah bumbug! The mitten design is very exquisite and has a bunch of flavorful details that represent the mercs, I'd vote for this!

If the Heavy has any of his melee slot glove-style weapons equipped, these cosmetic gloves simply won't be equippable. Can't be helped.
Soldier and Demoman have the same issue if you i.e. equip the Soldier's Gunboats boots in secondary slot or the Demoman's Wee Booties/Bootlegger in primary slot and then try to equip the Teufort Tooth Kicker boots or the Flashdance Footies. Visibility of weapons and utility items takes precedence before pure cosmetic items.

I agree that full paintability of the entire mitten would be a bad idea.
I much prefer it if the mittens are either team-coloured or, in case of classes whose default body model already wears gloves (i.e. Heavy, Sniper, Engineer, Pyro, Spy), if the mitten keeps close to the default colour scheme (i.e. yellow for Engineer, brown-ish for Heavy and Sniper).
At the most you could make a pattern on the mitten paintable, but I'm not sure if that warrants the added work.

The only nit pick I have is with the Pyro mittens. While the googly eyes and nose are a cute idea, the colour scheme just feels too... drab for Pyro.
I realize that the Pyro's default gloves are anthractite grey with pale yellowish colour on the fingers and rim, so it's not like his default gloves are team-coloured either, but... (shrug)

@ALI=3NS it'd just require a new equip region. These currently use "scout_hands" but I wouldn't be opposed to them taking up arm_skin or whatever since that's a proper all class region.

On blank version with team color: this would mess up recognition of what gloves Heavy is wearing.

I don't doubt that. I mean if weapon has trigger guard that you need to stick your finger into to reach trigger, how would anyone do it wearing a mitten? This would look weird.

@mitka It was tested with all of the default weapon poses, and there is little to no clipping on them :)

It's a cool idea but, I don't think it's gonna work well with characters holding weapons other then melee and maybe some ranged exceptions.

also u can still tell what team medic is on even without his gloves, his coat is light red or blue, and you can also just tell by what team he's healing

@blargoh I'd assume because of the Gunslinger bodygroup not being able to be toggled in game - this would lead to the right handed glove being rendered over his gunslinger.

also just curious is there a specific reason why engineer has never gotten a glove to replace his right hand? the arctic mole set had coal gloves but wasnt added along with the rest of the set
