@robertpanasuk I'll look into ranger. As for the "multiclass with no drawbacks" if u really want to, go ahead. Im not here to gatekeep power fantasy players

K, I have found a work around though for anyone who wants to reclass them. Turning off the mod removes the tree and associated trait which prevents multi-class, however all skills are kept and slapped under the "misc" section, and if you get the tree back (like by reclassing into it) they all just go back to their regular spots. Though it does make the UI weird because misc skills are arrannged in a single collum

Yes. You use scroll at the bottom. The order of the skill trees is the order which the game gives you them.

alright I just did some checking and I think Rangers should have some melee penalty's since without that someone like a Warrior could multiclass into Ranger invest in the skirmisher side of the tree and gain nothing but power.

I know you have said that you will not make or maintain a version of this mod without penalty and your reasoning makes perfect sense to me. however would you be willing to let someone else use your mod as a base to achieve that goal?

Any chance adding the Grim Jester class to the multiclassing options? Love using a Jester / Necromancer (brings his own audience!) but I'd love to multiclass TO a jester instead of constant refresh in hopes of one appearing in the Hero recruits. Thx.

If you multiclass, but then the hero levels up via quest in the same turn (fe. build a workshop in my case) and gains a level by this (he always automatically gains a level when finishing such quest) it seems the one point spend on the multiclassing isn't refunded. You just get the new class unlocked immidiatly and and get a point instead of 2. Can you confirm or was it just a fluke?

I just noticed a typo in the ritualist class selection button (mouseover), says '... into the ritualis r class' instead of 't' I think it's from your mod, though I am also using Kaiges multiclasses so maybe it's originated from there.

Thanks to a modding tools update, the multiclass skill of the class you started with will now be locked. This goes for both AI and player.

Without preventing the AI from multiclassing entirely? No.

I will soon have an update where AI and players alike will be disabled from picking same-class multiclass.

Would it be possible to somehow prevent heroes on the recruitment screen from picking the multiclass skills?

Cause it is a bit annoying, when they come with detrimental combinations. Like a Defender picking Defender multiclass.

"@Everyone regarding multiclassing - That is someone elses mod. If you are using 2 mods you are using them at your own risk. I designed my skill trees to contain exactly 21 skills per class with the starting skill costing 0 skill points, so that a level 20 hero can have exactly all the skills for a class. I will not be changing this.
However, I would encourage those who desire this change to make the change for yourself. It is relatively simple to delve into the mod files and change the skill point cost from 0 to 1 for personal use. Simply open the HeroClasses.rpk in the Resource Editor, navigate to the 4 "Archetype" (Fighter, Mage, Priest, Scout) dropdowns and modify the Class Selection Skills Skill Point cost."

Ah, ok thank you Pumko. I went over to Jack's mod and found this description which details exactly what the "problem" is. While these mods are compatible, they're not designed to be used together necessarily, which even if you fix this point bug, it still allows you to stack starting class buffs for a bunch of health. So it probably would be best not to pair these mods together unless you really love having OP heroes. I'll post the comment in here as a refresher.

@Zaxori, read down below) you need to open the HeroClasses.rpk with the Resource editor (ResourceED.exe in main game folder), navigate to the 4 "Archetype" (Fighter, Mage, Priest, Scout) dropdowns and modify the Class Selection Skills Skill Point cost from 0 to 1

I'm not sure if this has been reported yet, but I've found a pretty big bug with this mod when paired with another mod. When this mod is paired with "Hero Classes", heroes are able to select a class from EACH branching path of class, thus allowing the hero to benefit from multiple class selection buffs without it even costing a skill point. This leads to heroes become severely overpowered. I'm talking like 20 Defense, 250 heatlh type broken. I'm not sure which mod causes the flaw.

1) Since I refund you a skill point when you go to select a multiclass, I cannot allow it to skill reset as it leads to a virtually unavoidable infinite skill point bug and making it cost 0 will cause every hero to always multiclass rather than some because it'll be seen as a free skill to the AI.

2) I will tell you as I told someone else. I have played every multiclass combo, and I find it a bit hard to believe that the chosen multiclass is "useless" and is moreso "not what I desired" which are two different things.

Due to coding limitations, this is one of those "you have to deal with the hand you are dealt" type situations.

Lord Vectra, your mod is awesome, but have an issue: when you you try to hire a new hero, they are very often have multiclass (and often that are useless). This looks like straight debuff (especially -1 range) for a class, that i can't even undone :( I find myself in trap, when i spent a time to find some hero with a nice trait, but damn ai already multiclassed that hero with a shitty class :(

Looks like you answered your own question. I don't make mods I would not play myself (which includes broken mods)

And as per my mod's description I said the limitations are so that "you aren't just the absolute best in the two classes you meddle with" and i have also said "non-penalized multiclassing was definitely a problem."

The reign-in update is not being reversed. Also, with your 30 extra skill points, you could easily select all nodes of both classes, pick all your signature skills, and your origin skills. If you have an extra 30 on TOP of that, then yeah, this mod is not for you.

Well now, I don't understand why you would impose such limitations. Wasn't the total number of skill points a hero can get the only necessary limitation? Why take something big, beautiful and broken and slap shackles on it? I was just looking for something to spend the 30 or so extra skill points my heroes end up with. This doesn't seem to be a good choice.

their basis defense and resistance is normal, but they have several (4) +1/+2/+3 defense and resistance bonus listed under the base stat in the detailed tooltips, without this mod only 1 time +1

i dont know why but this mod makes enemy heroes insane tanky, they start with more than 10 defense and resistance, 46dmg makes only 10 dmg on them, its insane

There was an issue where the -1 range on magic attacks were making it so certain dragon breaths could not be used, this has been fixed. Dragon Breaths have been excluded from the range malus.
