didn't like it sowwy hope it could help for improve :)
AFTER THAT there is a lot of positive great things like dub
End in progress
The jumping puzzle on the spinning things over radioactive water is a PITA, I keep slipping off as the player doesn't actually sick to the moving bits, which is definitely a bug.
The turrets? Yeah no way too difficult, turrets hit way too hard and take way too long to kill. Had to mostly rely on cheating by throwing barrels around and save scumming. Oh and the third section (in the dark tunnels) is pretty impossible since barrels aren't an option there.
But... there's lots of potential! I definitely do think the level look nice and flow well. Voice acting is pretty good and in the vibe of the OG game. Keep cooking and I think this will be a good remake :)
CONS: That jumping key combo is ass but I suppose you would get use to it after a while. I finally cheated in two areas. 1- The two toxic pools with the rotating gee-gaws and the darkened area with the turrets. The turrets just took too many rounds to knock out. Is this a skill issue on my part? Probably. So be it. It went from challenging to no fun.
PROS: LOTS of potential here! This can really be fantastic.
-The setting and the background you've nailed!
-The lighting is also nice
- Visuals are also quiet nice.
The Bad
-This game chugs. No matter what I pick, I'm playing at under 30 fps and some parts even at under 20fps. I don't have industrial level gaming Pc but its still a decent rig so it shouldn't be this bad.
-third part of the course is really harsh I've been stuck there for awhile and haven't been able to finish.
-On the very end of the second course where you have to jump through the elevator shaft it is possible to survive the fall and be stuck there indefinitely with no way out.
Suggestions
-I wont bother going over the AI voices as sometimes you gotta make due with whats available. I just hope good voice talent replaces these AI voices!
-This project need some serious optimization fixes.
- don't remake the entire map just for the people who want it to be easy. I am fine with a challenge just stream line it so its not as punishing!
From the moment I opened my eyes on that helipad I just absorbed the visuals, really pretty environment art. As an environment artist I ate that up. The substation just outside the fence, all those rocks and desert foliage and distant buildings and enclosures. I really liked how you could see through the windows of those barracks you weren't able to get into, and the little details like the guy inspecting the truck outside the fence, it all felt immersive enough to pull you right in.
Hearing the guy on the radio complain about the government wasting tax dollars on secret programs put a big smile on my face, reminds me of my favorite radio show Bill Cooper's Mystery Babylon.
I'll admit the turrets are totally overboard, but it was a fun challenge to get past.
2nd... A training environment can be hazardous but it shouldn't be designed to kill the trainee. Having you go through a shoot house with turrets and trip mines is pretty ridiculous even for a game. I don't know if you can say they are "sim-munition" and get hit too many times you have to start over. Or better yet just have stationary and moving target you have to hit. Just my two cents.
