Do not use with Rising Tide. You're welcome.
Chephren Mykerinos 21 Oct, 2015 @ 1:49pm
Great Mod, but for me, it doesn't work with Rising Tide.

I dunno, maybe a patch broke it after I made it. I haven't played this game in months and don't really see the benefit in revisiting my mods for it until RT comes out. If RT is actually decent and I can find a way to fit buying it into my budget (both time and money), I'll take another look at it.
neo5apien 12 Aug, 2015 @ 4:30pm
Yeah, this mod didn't work. Unit dies the same turn I get the notification.

Renley was a strong and hardy explorer. He braved the toxic miasma on Gliese 486C, pushing his body and equipment to the limit to made new discoveries as soon as possible.

Unfortunately his Miasma Warning Alarm sounded too late as he was extracting the data core from a mysterious fallen satellite of unknown origin. His last rover footage showed him gasping and choking to death as the deadly fungal spores set in his lungs, turning them into furry green lumps in his chest. He was found rooted to the ground with mushrooms growing out of his mouth and eyes, quite a gruesome reminder of the dangers our noble Explorers face in the pursuit of knowledge.

If only his gear had worked properly.

subcribed, read the comments, 5 seconds later I unsubscribed.

I can't remember because I played so long ago ... but it must have helped me - or I would have complained (like @jeelen).
RRartie 6 Mar, 2015 @ 6:06am
Didn't work for me either. Unit died and the warning appeared. I wish there was a way to tune it to give warning sooner.
JEELEN 22 Jan, 2015 @ 5:57am
I unsubscribed for this reason: the near death warning appears in the same turn as the announcemennt the unit has died. Not very helpful, I'm afraid.

Can we have an alternate download link please???
Too Twisted 30 Dec, 2014 @ 7:36pm
Great feature, quite benefical
Q-T_3.14.exe 30 Dec, 2014 @ 2:02pm
Finaly our workers and explorers are safe, thanks to you!
Menace 23 Dec, 2014 @ 4:55am
@c.HugeTits i think thats the whole point... we cover the more detailed things and they rake in the penniez
azurphenix 15 Dec, 2014 @ 2:36am
Really useful. I dont remember how many times I have to reload an old savegame juste because an explorer died in miasma
RazerMouseNoob1885 24 Nov, 2014 @ 7:39am
THIS ISN'T PART OF THE ORGINAL GAME? HOW COULD THE LAZY DEVS NOT PUT THIS IN MONEY GRABBING ASSHOLES. OH NEVER MIND ADDING THAT A MODDER WILL DO IT FOR US!!
Jimmy Dones 23 Nov, 2014 @ 1:22pm
possible to make it so that the near death notification stops auto-end turn from firing? maybe like when a hostile military unit or alien gets near a worker
Zero the Hero 21 Nov, 2014 @ 1:50pm
The unit near death would radio their distress back to control so this makes perfect sense.
Felbad 20 Nov, 2014 @ 11:45am
Best mod ever. Thank you Vice

What a screwball idea. It is bewildering why any gamer would want more notifications and alerts. The player "should" be in control of the game to be fun. I suppose some people want the computer to hold their hand; some people love to be a puppet on a string.
Destiny 12 Nov, 2014 @ 11:40pm
Good job
Thadom570 11 Nov, 2014 @ 8:19pm
if they tested this game they would've known this needed to be implimented but obviously we know they didn't.
Stegocephalian 10 Nov, 2014 @ 5:15pm
Thanks! One of those helpful little changes that should be made part of the official game with a patch.
mfly6148 10 Nov, 2014 @ 12:44am
I don't know how hard it would be to add something like this to your mod, but the other day I brought up an idea in the forums that seemed to get a little bit of interest. My idea was that it'd be pretty useful to receive a notification when your explorer runs out of probes, and to then have an option to 'return to base' in order to replenish the probes. The 'base' could be either your nearest city (probably the more useful option) or the city that produced the explorer. Of course, finding a safe route back to base might be tricky, at least for any explorer units that don't have alien immunity... Anyway, just thought I'd mention it and see what you think. Maybe this would need to be a separate mod? Thanks!
riT-k0MA 9 Nov, 2014 @ 11:53pm
A workaround for this bug is to start BE, load mods, load game, quit to main menu, load mods again, load game again.
Sean K. 9 Nov, 2014 @ 10:15am
I found the explanation, it isn't caused by your mod: there's currently a bug, pending official Firaxis fix, which glitches out the unit action UI if the promotions database is tinkered with.
Sean K. 9 Nov, 2014 @ 7:35am
Hi, I'm getting a weid bug when loading your mod alongside colored tech web and my balance mod. The action menu for units (lower left corner) either disappears completely, or does weird stuff, like offering to promote my explorer, but nothing happens when you select a promotion. I don't know how or why this happens, just thought I'd let you know that there might be some issue. (my mod only edits game rule XMLs, it doesn't edit the UI at all)
de.funston 8 Nov, 2014 @ 8:14pm
you got that right
Kaitos Mogh 8 Nov, 2014 @ 2:47pm
This is not just a mod. It's proper game design.
Raz 8 Nov, 2014 @ 1:44pm
Thank you.
Gamer7956 8 Nov, 2014 @ 1:10pm
SO USEFUL!!! Other than the obvious fact it should have been in the base game, this is a (small but) amazing mod. Not to sound greedy, but you might want to consider putting something in that will give you a notification and option to go back when you are about to put a unit in miasma that will die before you can get it out. (similar to the attacking cities notification). Even if you don't though, still a great addition
Jefferson Steelflex 8 Nov, 2014 @ 8:23am
I love you.
cosmicthing 8 Nov, 2014 @ 5:37am
Nice one! Lost too many units to miasma already. Thanks.
Thö Soos 8 Nov, 2014 @ 12:05am
Congratz, you just received affinity for Purity & Supremacy. Screw (high rank) Harmony.
chimp 7 Nov, 2014 @ 2:38pm
Very useful. Thank you!
Krash 7 Nov, 2014 @ 12:27pm
Thank you for providing something that should have been in the game anyway.
jcortes8989 7 Nov, 2014 @ 11:42am
Thank You! Finally no more lost explorers because I forget about them
Vie S  [author] 7 Nov, 2014 @ 9:25am
@IphStich
Sure, go for it.
julli@home 7 Nov, 2014 @ 7:29am
Awesome, just what I needed :)
JellieBird 7 Nov, 2014 @ 7:20am
Hey, it's been suggested I incorporate this feature into my User Interface Tweaks mod. So, yeah, asking for permission before I go ahead and try writing it myself. :D

Of course I'll give you credit, and even add you as a contributor if you want.
Neko Knight 7 Nov, 2014 @ 6:52am
I had two explorers die in miasma on the last turn of their expeditions (it took 10 turns to complete). This is something I would be very pleased with.
LuddWillsIt 7 Nov, 2014 @ 6:10am
Something which should have obvioulsy been in the base game now exists! Yay!
Myshkin 7 Nov, 2014 @ 3:44am
God dammit yes! So badly needed.
gunnergoz 6 Nov, 2014 @ 1:31pm
May not work with other UI mods. I twice launched it and found I could not see the unit window any longer on the main map.
Daddy 6 Nov, 2014 @ 1:26pm
it would be great if someone could figure out how to get this working in multiplayer
daft73 5 Nov, 2014 @ 4:33pm
Thanks sooo much for this. I can continue my semi-micromanagement self with a clear conscience, less worker casulties.
Theotherguy 5 Nov, 2014 @ 4:16pm
my workers rejoice, no longer will they die from the air around them; the aliens on the other hand...
Matress_of_evil 5 Nov, 2014 @ 3:18pm
You have NO idea how many units i've lost to the damn Miasma. THANK YOU!
Corporal Jones 5 Nov, 2014 @ 1:37pm
OO very useful after having already lost several to the damned miasma. Will try it when someone makes a 3 unit per tile mod and i start a new game ;)
