About the pink grid - It will usually disappear after a game restart. I notice all affected materials when pink grid occurs will produce warning in console with "Material [affected texture name with pink grid] has bad reference count -7 when being bound" (-7 can sometimes be 0 too). Running mat_reloadallmaterials or texture don't fix the problem

Tactifelis Multicatus, In my fashion, this should not be, perhaps it's in some other mods. Try to change the priority of my mod in the game settings to the lowest.

This mod was installed for me as a part of this "one click remake" collection (I just clicked subscribe all) (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/filedetails/?id=3366902966) .

I am a new modding player for this game and I see occasional pink-grid missing texture ... just wondering if this mod may have issues loading some textures.

You just click Subscribe and it will work in the game, nothing else needs to be done. Regarding the episodes, read the description carefully. For example, if you are playing Episode One, then leave only the mod for this episode enabled, so that there are no texture errors.

I can't figure out how to get these to load or where the mod is applied, do I still need to put the .vpk files in the custom folder in the game or is it supposed to just work? steam guide on workshops says there is a launcher window where you can select which mods are applied but this isn't the case for hl2? Can you dumb it down

Hey, is it okay if I can borrow textures from this mod for a 'QoL' modpack I'm making? I tried to contact through gamebanana comments and wanting to put this here out of curiosity again, currently I'm wanting to use the hair textures for mossman and father grigori's facemap texture only, I've gone onto more detail about it but there's some outdated info about the modpack. I'm fine if you don't want me to use these textures, completely up to you! ^^

I think I found one small texture that needs to be upscaled. It's the gasline in front of the large fire in Ravenholm where you first see Father Grigori.

1) Well, here only by enumeration method, disable or enable mods one by one and see which of them affects this texture. I don't know any other way.

Excellent. Thank you. Out of curiosity, is there a way for me to determine which mod is loading the texture?
Also, just to make sure I understand the new system now, if we want to use, for example, the static prop lighting maps with this mod, we should not load the new separate map files? Just the texture addon?

I like the option of splitting into two mods from the workshop. Just seems easier that way.

By the way, on a different topic, I think I managed to find a texture that needs to be upscaled. It's in Ravenholm, behind the electrified fence that you have to turn off.

There are two options:
1) split the mod into two parts, as I described above,
2) either leave it as is, and those who want to use the mod with other mods with maps can use manual installation (which is described in my game guides).

Dear users of my mod. I need to consult with you. What is the problem: I had to change some .vmt files embedded in map files so that all textures in the game look correct. But because of this, the mod may be incompatible with other mods that have maps of the original game. I came up with an idea to make the mod compatible with other mods that contain maps by dividing my mod into two mods: the first - the main one, contains only textures (will be compatible with other mods with maps, but some textures will look stretched), and the second - additional, contains only map files (in which, together with the main mod, all textures will look correct, but there may be incompatibility with mods that have maps of the original game). I just can not make compatibility patches for all such mods.
