What 3D Modelling software does Sea Power Use?
Brother Munro  [author] 13 Mar @ 3:24am
I mean if I find someone with the 3D modelling skills to do that then yes
Concobhar sruthán 1 12 Mar @ 8:39am
@BrotherMunro any chance of the model looking like this ???

Apparently they considered extending the sides to add a pair of phalanxs to the centerline but it would have been to costly so they never did it. But it could have been possible to add 1 on top of the hanger.

Also would it be possible to add the pair off 30mm auto cannon's to each side with the 5 martlet missiles on them because it was tested on bored HMS Sutherland back in 2019 !!
Brother Munro  [author] 12 Feb @ 2:42am
I probably could, was that something that was considered?
duckmartin 12 Feb @ 2:05am
Hey you couldn't make a fictional version of the type 23 with a phalanx on top of the hanger and CAMM replaced by CAMM-ER ??
Brother Munro  [author] 27 Jan @ 12:56am
I've not done any work with sea lifter/anchor chain so I'm afraid I don't know what is causing that
Toby 26 Jan @ 10:03pm
interestingly with sea lifter and anchor chain plus the other royal navy mods soemthing does not like this mod as im getting major texture issues.
duckmartin 26 Jan @ 3:44pm
Any chance could we get the modern version off the type 23 with its CAMM missiles and its radar upgrade plus NSM are even just better RGM 84 ??
Brother Munro  [author] 17 Jan @ 3:16pm
Importing models into sea power is a bit awkward, and I’d need someone to make one of a Type 23, so this is a proxy (like most of the mods available at the moment)
Brytenwalda 17 Jan @ 8:08am
This looks nothing like a Type 23 Frigate. Is this meant to be a joke?
JazzObserver127 14 Jan @ 3:44pm
Quite the sure the Harpoon Launchers on these frigates are suppose to face outward rather than inward. Small nitpick.

NTU adjusts a few speeds (nimitz, la), might be smart for the T23, Lancaster was recorded at 32 knots in open source media in the 90's even before it got anti fouling paint, transom flap (worth about 3 knots), so 33.5 seems reasonable
Supertobias77 30 Dec, 2024 @ 7:05am
Wouldn't the Garcia-class be a better ships to base the Type 23 on?
Longbow 9 Dec, 2024 @ 2:53am
@kmknowles001 if your using the type 42 mod put this one above that, it still has a residual early sea wolf in the 42's files that are 40km
Brother Munro  [author] 9 Dec, 2024 @ 12:39am
40?! Should be 6! Have they aquired Sea Darts by mistake? I'll look into that @cloudybeer
kmknowles001 8 Dec, 2024 @ 4:14am
Sea Wolf range is 40km?? Should be 10km.

The steamer I'd very much like to see in the final RN Orbat is the Leander Class. I served as the Underwater Warfare Officer (PWO(U)) of two of these fine ships back in the 80s - Arethusa (Ikara Mod) and Phoebe (Exocet Mod) both fittted with the towed array Sonar 2031 India. Had many a fun time with Victor 2/3s, Echo 2s and the occasional Delta!
Brother Munro  [author] 7 Dec, 2024 @ 1:58am
Yes this is a Knox class that has had stuff swapped around! I might be able to get the harpoon launchers correct once I find another model in game with them that I understand how it works 😅 fully custom models will take some time as steam won’t allow modders to pull a model from another game (as we don’t have the right to do that)
50Stone 6 Dec, 2024 @ 3:37pm
Assume these and other custom models are reuses of in game asserts as I noticed that the Type-23 here is a single screw hull, also missing the harpoon quad tubes forward of the bridge, can't wait till the game supports the import of new 3d models to let you modders really spread your wings/
Brother Munro  [author] 6 Dec, 2024 @ 12:14pm
I’m working on the Type 22 now, though they’re quite tricky. As for the type 23 they are very modern ASW frigates for Sea Power, but they aren’t exactly amazing or overpowered 😅
tallison1 6 Dec, 2024 @ 4:05am
The batch 3 T22's would probably a great, time accurate asset for the base game- with the sea wolf launchers fore and aft, bigger hangar, 4.5 inch gun, 8 harpoons, TAS and Goalkeeper Ciws. Love the NTU mod for example but the 23's are probably too modern to go in the base game
Brother Munro  [author] 6 Dec, 2024 @ 2:18am
@Shane, It is certainly doable to make proxies of 21st century ships, but we don't have any suitable models for them. Given the game's scope I'm going to try and help fill out the RN's cold war roster :)
Brother Munro  [author] 6 Dec, 2024 @ 2:17am
True @50Stone but HMS Glasgow isn't due to enter commissioned service until 2026/27 so the Type 23 is still the front line ASW frigate in the RN, which I'm pretty sure the designers of the Type 23 would be very surprised by, they'd probably also be surprised to learn the expected end of life date for the class is 2035!
50Stone 6 Dec, 2024 @ 1:04am
Type-23 isn't the Royal Navy's newest ASW Frigate, that would be the Type-26. Still thanks for bringing Royal Navy ships to game
Shane Martin 5 Dec, 2024 @ 11:34am
Amazing mod!

I just imagine the future ships that can be added, the Type 45, Type 26, QE Class Carriers, Type 31 ect for UK, and future ships for other nations as Sea Power develops.
Brother Munro  [author] 5 Dec, 2024 @ 10:39am
I need to work on a Type 22 now don't I xD
Longbow 5 Dec, 2024 @ 10:17am
