the fps can be fixed with a few commands:
r_flashlightdepthres 512;
r_projectedtexture_filter 0.2;
mat_slopescaledepthbias_shadowmap 2;
mat_depthbias_shadowmap 0.000005;

I DONT RECOMENDED THIS MOD, IT WILL CRASH GAME TO DESKTOP AFTER 5 MINUTES OF USE, IF YOU GET CTD THEN UNSUB FROM THIS ADDON AND YOUR GMOD WILL BE FINE

The shadow settings keep not saving everytime i change and close the menu they reset to the default settings. only the map settings save

@potatogaming I can't say for blue, but I can safely assume that he looked into much of the lua scripting already available in regards to configuring the Source Engine's shadows, what goes into it, and simply decided to try and make things more configurable regarding the shadows, lighting, etc. Which he's done so successfully in my opinion.

@cayama0811 I'm not sure, but try playing with Life Mod alongside the Source Shadows addon, both have options to tweak the shading and such inside the game and I feel they actually work well together for my own purposes. I'm also fairly certain there's settings for multiple shadow origins being cast onto a single object, but I could very well be wrong.

its possible to have multiple shadows on the same object? it kinda looks weird when u have a lot of lights around u but theres only one that produces shadow so yeah

@PManPlays44, CSM is by all means a more realistic and complicated addon. CSM renders actual real time shadows on everything, but this is also why it's so taxing. If you want a more permanent solution to making shadows a bit better, Source Shadows is a more optimal option.

Hmm i really wanted a option to save the global settings, i mostly want to disable the Forced dynamic shadows since it gives some bugs for me but doesn't save

@The Celestial, to save map settings, you need to hit a button that’s on the bottom of the menu. Normal shadow setting save automatically, but only if you quit through the menu. It won’t save if you forcefully close the game.

@наГибатор3000 In order to remove residual addon files to entirely remove their functionality from your instance of Garry's Mod; please refer to the main menu's lower-right functionalities within Garry's Mod itself. There, there is a notification telling you of uninstalled addons that have residual files still leftover within your directory. There, there is a button that automatically removes any and all .gma files from your computer in the form of an automatic console command via button press. I hope this helps, my friend.

Regarding the map, can we get any little sneak peek hints as to what it may be? Is it a more scenic posing map, or a sandboxy one? I'm excited for its release!

Just updated the addon! As I said, I've made a band-aid fix. It should work in singleplayer now. Multiplayer is still broken, because I am under the assumption that the "IsAdmin()" function will be fixed. If not, I will come back to it.

Thank you! Currently a decent work-around is to use the shadow settings inside of the Life Mod addon, unfortunately as I presume, this only affects shadows to a limited degree compared to what your addon is capable of. I pray for your success, my friend!

Upon further examination it looks like something has changed or broke with the IsAdmin() function, as multiple other addons doing the same thing as mine are also broken. This might be a bug on Garry's Mod's part as I don't see anything mentioning the IsAdmin() function in the new update. If I find a band aid fix I will put it out though!

It's telling me I need to be an admin to access the shadow setting. This makes no sense as I'm playing in a singleplayer game. Could you please help with this?

Something pretty unrelated, but, still, VERY FRUSTRATING. Particles glowing in the dark has to be one of the most fucking evil things valve did. Is there a way this can be fixed (is it just a ME/clientside problem or does the code need to be rewritten, because if so, holy shit, genuine skill issue, if u make a fix for this, i'd be so fucking thankfull, like words wouldn't describe how thankful i'd be)
