Just gonna chime in again, tf2s default hud is literally designed after the same 1950s flat graphics

@Mcfighter I get what you're saying. It makes sense for effects and cosmetics to feel like they would fit within the universe of the game. Personally,I feel that unusuals have a special place of being somewhat experimental with the game's overall look. (also ty for your explanation on what u meant with your critique :) )

@WheatOnToast
Yes, this is from the same time period that TF2 takes place in, that isn't a problem. What is a problem is that this mid-century style used at that time period is completely different from TF2's style, so it sticks out like a sore thumb. It doesn't feel like something you'd see in-universe.
Another example to illustrate my point: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2806154435
This effect also uses a style that was prominent in the 60's: comic books. It looks cool, but it does not look good in TF2 at all.
Same for your effect. I think it looks really neat, but in TF2 I don't think it looks good because it doesn't match the look of everything around it.

@Mcfighter2 TF2 takes place in 1968. This effect takes inspiration of the mid-century style used at that time. Seems appropriate.

Completely different artstyle in the game that has a very defined artstyle is not good.
