RT version is coming sometime, but no ETA. I will likely rework a lot of the perks to make high-Affinity Explorers a sort of support unit. I'll go over your suggestions:
bonus chance to finding artifacts: I dunno if it's doable without replacing Artifacts.lua, but I like the idea.
bonus to yield from pillaging nests: might work okay for Purity, but I've got better ideas for them. Harmony is better at keeping nests around now, so i won't replace their current ability with this one
won't be attacked by aliens: probably going to be one of the first choosable perks.
reduced damage from leashing: dunno if it's possible, but good one.
is a submarine while embarked: Don't like this one. Lot of complicated code would be involved, would probably be buggy.
spotting invisible units: good idea.
I've got some ideas myself, including giving orbital coverage within the explorer's line of vision as a high-level supremacy perk.
So the explorers actually have the same unit flag as the marines with this mod in RT?
I've actually been given RT as a gift so I'll be looking into this mod again at some point, will have to figure out what would cause that.
Will also need to make a new ability for Harmony 2 explorers since Alien Leashing is now a thing. I wouldn't expect an update for a little while yet though.
Fun fact: I learned to mod Civ5/BE a little bit to try to fix this. No luck yet :D
I liked this mod, for with the upgrades, my units weren't so vulnerable to the alien threat in the late game. However, from the get go, I didn't like that the unit utilized the same badge and 3D model as the basic melee unit; I frequently confused the Explorer with the Soldier. Frankly, I'd be fine if the upgradeable Explorer retained the original Explorer look throughout the game.

And there is no hint if or if not the mod is compatible in the description.
I thought it already was, or at least that's what others told me.
Well, I have no intentions of buying RT, so if this mod is incompatible after all, it will remain so.
You were hoping they would fix it, I bet you posted in the right thread to. Sadly the trick clearing cache worked a couple of times and was to frustrating to keep doing. Vice you are very good at what you do man, again sorry I made it sound like I was giving you shit.
BERT is fun, regardless of the crappy modding. Im actually enjoying myself but again there are issues. AI is not the smartest. lol
Well, don't blame me for a bug Firaxis has refused to fix for over a year now. Don't feel like dropping $30 for an expansion which doesn't even fix multiple well-known modding bugs, when I could spend a little over a third of that and get Endless Legend: Shadows like I've been meaning to.
Fact is you have a good mod but breaks the game when used most of the time.

Good to know at least this works, even if my Civs don't. I don't plan on getting RT, so I couldn't have fixed this mod if I needed to.
How many Expeditions do you legitimately think you can find after you've reached Affinity...what is it, 11? I forgot, I haven't played this game in close to a year. It'll generally be pretty difficult to even get 6 Firaxite out of the deal.

It's Firaxis's bug, not mine. Every other mod which adds new unit promotions to the game will have the same issue. Maybe RT will fix it, but I dunno.

I've also seen this with a couple of other mods, and this bug only shows up once every time I start the game up. After loading or starting a game with the mod, then quiting back to the main menu, the bug doesn't occur again until I restart the game (which is probably why it didn't show up while you were testing).
I have no idea what causes it, but my current theory is that it's related to some sort of memory glitch, and probably something to do with a string somewhere.
Harmony is already encouraged to destroy alien nests so it can build Xenomass Wells. (you can leave the Alien Nest on it, but the yields from the XW with its corresponding buildings are a much better benefit than blue aliens.) Harmony, despite its name, is depicted more along the lines of humans forcibly adapting their biology to that of the aliens, rather than any sort of actual Harmony with them. Space ASPCA, they ain't.
I don't play this game anymore, but when I did, Ryika's Aggressive Wildlife and Shadow's Alien Strains were both great for the job. Dunno how the patch has changed them.
