It's a shame to hear that... I really was looking forward to the idea of it. I guess all I can pray for is someone takes up the idea in the long run. Thanks for the quick response though.
Drakothecat 28 Jul @ 5:39pm
oh well, lol
Turtleren  [author] 28 Jul @ 4:49pm
Well, I tried the hedge pendant in preview 2025.6.2.0 (the latest one as of writing this) and it works fine with all the default settings. Mind you, I'm only running the fox mod and its dependencies, so it could still be a mod conflict causing issues for you, Drako 🤔
Turtleren  [author] 28 Jul @ 4:30pm
@daniel.close, making that work would basically require me to resprite an animated hedge form for the involved races, which in turn would require me to tinker a LOT with how MrPlague's Authentic Races handles drawing race sprites.
In other words- a lot of effort that I don't really feel up to 😅
Drakothecat 28 Jul @ 4:29pm
i might also try turning off preview
Drakothecat 28 Jul @ 4:29pm
okay
Turtleren  [author] 28 Jul @ 4:11pm
Hmm, could be the preview version, I haven't tried that. I might give that a shot later and see if any of my mods are having trouble on the preview version
Drakothecat 28 Jul @ 3:58pm
also the only time it works is when i use the 'Fox Hedge Planter Box' or any of the pedestals from the lil dragon mod
Drakothecat 28 Jul @ 3:48pm
i have no idea
Drakothecat 28 Jul @ 3:48pm
maybe it's because i'm on preview?
Drakothecat 28 Jul @ 3:47pm
i've also turned on the toggle option
Drakothecat 28 Jul @ 3:46pm
idk, maybe is some other mods i have, but i don't think that's the problem..
daniel.close 28 Jul @ 10:30am
Seeing this, I kind of wonder several things and figured I would suggest if it hasn't been asked before:

Firstly... is it possible to make a vanity thing that makes you look hedged even if you're not? Some of these appearances look amazing and I could imagine walking around as a plant fox of the different biomes. ^_^

Secondly... would it be possible to do a cross-content with your lil dragons with the hedge thing (possibly with the first suggestion) because PLANT. DRAGONS. :D I could only imagine how creative you could get with these!
Turtleren  [author] 27 Jul @ 9:44pm
Odd. I'm... not really sure why?
The only other thing I can think of is if you're holding or just pressing the pendant's activation key. The fox pendant, by default, requires you to hold the key down to keep it activated.
...maybe I should change the description since it says 'toggle' 🤔
Drakothecat 27 Jul @ 9:03pm
yeah idk, it doesn't work for me
Drakothecat 27 Jul @ 8:52pm
ima try it again and say if it works or not
Drakothecat 27 Jul @ 8:51pm
i am playing as a fox, and it doesn't work
Turtleren  [author] 27 Jul @ 7:11pm
If you're playing as a fox, it should work. Works just fine for me 🤷
If you're not playing as a fox... well, the item is only made for foxes, so it won't work- it shouldn't even show any effects if you're not a fox.
Drakothecat 27 Jul @ 1:24pm
i use it and it doesn't do anything, all it does is show an effect
Turtleren  [author] 27 Jul @ 2:51am
If you're using the Focused Hedge Pendant, check your keybinds. You may need to manually binds its key through the keybinds in MrPlague's Authentic Races.
Drakothecat 27 Jul @ 1:00am
hedge thing isn't working
Drakothecat 25 Jul @ 10:33pm
nvm, i figured it out
Drakothecat 25 Jul @ 9:57pm
how does this work?

the one race mod that my family wont question me about
Turtleren  [author] 25 Jun @ 1:08am
(deleted my prior message because I found something out after posting it lol)

Good news! I managed to fix the bug! Will be releasing the patch (v4.9.3) in the L'il Dragon mod that handles most of the visual stuff responsible for making my races look the way they do.

As a sidenote, I noticed AFK's has some rather naughty code responsible for changing the player's head position for their Nerve Parasite item that isn't very multiplayer-friendly, so that item will still break in multiplayer but that's not my fault :p
Turtleren  [author] 24 Jun @ 10:30pm
I did actually try to write a compatibility patch for that mod a while back to fix a similar visual issue… I must have either missed testing it in multiplayer or it’s a new issue.
Regardless, thanks a heap for finding out which mod it was, I’ll see if I can fix it so you don’t have to give it up in multiplayer ;)
OromisElf 24 Jun @ 1:42pm
Ok got it. It was "AFK's PETS and more".
It's probably because it's still in alpha, but we wanted to try it, since the singleplayer experience was so cool <3
OromisElf 23 Jun @ 4:21pm
What a quick reaction!
I'll try to scour for the mod in question then and come back once I find the answer o7
Turtleren  [author] 23 Jun @ 4:15pm
Unfortunately that sounds like a mod conflict, as it doesn't happen when playing with just my races alone. If you can figure out which mod it is, I *might* be able to write a patch for it, but no guarantees, depending on the nature of the conflict.
OromisElf 23 Jun @ 3:03pm
when I play a fox in mulitplayer (or one of your other awesome quadruped races), all players playing biped races have their heads misplaced (they have the same head offset, as a quadruped race, which means the head is floating slightly in front of them).

Is this a known thing I have to just deal with, a known thing with a fix, or an unknown thing?
Dekrosna 13 May @ 7:35pm
oh well I mean the games are really great imo and are worth playing. though if you don't do anything with the idea then that's fine but who knows maybe if you play through both games you may get inspired. either way enjoying the race mods you've made.
Turtleren  [author] 13 May @ 7:00pm
Possible, yes, although probably not something I’ll end up doing.
Tbh, I haven’t heard of Spirit of the North until just then XD
Dekrosna 12 May @ 7:36am
Hey Turtle would it be possible to make a fox race variant based off of the Fox/Foxes from both Spirit of the North games? I would really love to see that be done
mymainboynico 2 May @ 4:58pm
foxes should have collars like the dragon mod, but still really cool! :steamhappy:

This sounds like your mods are somehow not matching between players and the server.
I'm only taking a guess here though- I'm not 100% sure exactly what's going on as I've had fox gates sitting in my worlds for months without any issues and have been playing with others in multiplayer just fine.

Any extra information you can provide would greatly help in looking into this; screenshots, the mods you're running, etc.
Stew 28 Feb @ 2:44pm
Heyo, just looking to report a bug here. There seems to be a reoccurring issue of Fox Doors breaking, leaving little white dots in it's place. Destroying the dot give me a shade hedge leaf- Additionally, whenever my friends load onto the server, they don't see me as a Fox anymore.Any feedback or information on this potential issue, it could just be more exclusively, but never the less
- Thanks
Turtleren  [author] 21 Feb @ 5:01pm
Thank you :)
tinycdash 21 Feb @ 3:12pm
turtle great mod
Awoofy 19 Feb @ 7:55pm
ok
Turtleren  [author] 19 Feb @ 5:09pm
Someone in the B'ig Dragon comments section nailed down a compatibility issue with the Creative Tools mod that was causing players to slide to the right constantly. I've since pushed a fix in the L'il Dragon mod, so I'm crossing my fingers that the issue mentioned below will be fixed by that update.

Please let me know if you have any further troubles, and make sure you've updated to v3.12.4 of the L'il Dragon mod first!
Awoofy 16 Feb @ 1:51pm
yes no no idk yes
Turtleren  [author] 15 Feb @ 4:55pm
Thanks for the list, I just gave that a try today (alongside the fox mod, of course) but wasn't able to reproduce any odd behaviours... I tried both with the player's hitbox and weapon hitboxes to check if either were being buggy, but didn't encounter anything. Mind you, my testing was done in a fresh world with no accessories and only the starting tools.

At this point, I still need more specifics to figure this one out. Some questions I have in mind:
- Do you also get the bug on a new world with a new character?
- Does it only happen with certain items? Which items, if so?
- Does it only happen while using certain accessories or mounts?
- Does it still happen if you remove all other mods except for the L'il Fox and its dependencies?
- Are you using the default config for the L'il Dragon, L'il Fox and MrPlague's Authentic Races mods?

Any and all information you can provide will be helpful in figuring this one out. The more detailed, the better ;)

Turtleren  [author] 14 Feb @ 5:56pm
It sounds like that might be another mod conflict. If you can figure out which mod it is, I *might* be able to fix it, but otherwise I haven't encountered any such issues myself in my own modded playthroughs.
Awoofy 14 Feb @ 5:43pm
the hitboxes are 1 block up beond the normal player.
