how do I bind cl_thirdperson_switchshoulder

@Appleman just use xde thirdperson. it got freelook, shoulder view, switch shoulder view and first person aiming and also you can customize it. works with arc 9 and mw base

trust me i spent lots of time trying to do that, could never figure out a solution that didnt break recoil for most weapon bases

could you also make an option where its freelook? (like gta5 or gta4)

@kahwai you need to play on multiplayer for it to work.

very good 3rd person mod. switching side to side for me little bit slow and to set it up very ez ngl. and also need crosshair for this mod to work better

not your fault, shoulder switching just doesnt work for some people and i could never figure out the cause

still completely have no idea...any examples? I tried "cl_thirdperson_switchshoulder 13" to switch shoulder whenever it hit the "c" key, yet it still does not work. Am I doing something wrong? All is done in console commands.

i do have it enabled, but even then it doesn't work
there's no console log either, it's pretty much clean from any error

check the convar, its off by default

it seems i've run into a bug, a few weeks back? when i used this mod with ARC9 the first person aiming worked, but now that i'm trying it again after a clean reinstall it just doesn't work- the rest of the mod works well, but the FPS aiming (enabled of course) doesn't work, any possible clue or fix?

i've already tried stripping any mods outside arc9/cthirdperson too, and i've tried downloading the other c- mods to see if there was any bandaid fix to no avail

@Sgoti68 with clegs maybe try setting cl_legs_safebones to 1

@afxnatic sorry i was to tired to make another response last night but it is the clegs mod and paired with this mod it just makes it worse for me im not sure why. sorry for not saying it last night

@Sgoti68 i dont mess with bones or anything except viewer (local player) drawing, check if other addons r causing that

this mod is really good but in first person theres a weird black bar going out of the camera that appears when looking in one direction, other then that i think this is my favourite third person mod on the workshop

this guy is on a generational run of QoL mods

@gordn probably not, it works on my machine but seems inconsistent even for my friends. super frustrating because the hook code looks perfect

@gordn yeah its fucked for some people, play in multiplayer instead of singleplayer if you arent already

turns out that singleplayer fix fucked switching and wouldnt have fixed the issue even if it didnt break it. whoops!

@afxnatic Disabled all mods and restarted the game.

conflicts are too complicated to detect accurately, best to just limit the amount of addons you use

@afxnatic Someone found a way to detect how much resources an addon takes. I wonder if it's possible to make one that can also detect conflicts.

sorry i can't fix this, doesnt seem like gmod will ever get a way to read player binds from serverside

@afxnatic Probably. I will have to check the addons, but even if I solve it, I likely won't find the culprit addon.

@sigaret a friend reported that shoulder switching worked for them but only in MP. i pushed a potential fix for singleplayer so please let me know if it changes anything for you

@sigaret make sure you arent in singleplayer is the last potential fix but this addons code is so fucked i wouldnt be surprised if it was a bug

@afxnatic I can try again maybe I did something wrong. I can also try the L key like you recommended since nothing is binded to that.

@sigaret thats how youre supposed to do it so i dont know whats wrong besides maybe that key conflicting with default spawnmenu bind
