the mod´s been fixed for the latest b42 unstable build!
Alb3rt_Hmm 30 Jun @ 11:44am
this mod causes problems with opening map in most recent build 42.10 along with constown mod. If anyone have these problems, just de-enable these mods, and everything is fine as it was
CenturyOldRat  [author] 21 May @ 11:22am
try zenith's version @whosyourdaddy
WhosYourDaddy 21 May @ 8:53am
This mod will give infinite error count in version 42.8 or maybe this is the first time I try this mod so the problem is with somethings else
CenturyOldRat  [author] 9 Apr @ 12:36pm
did a quick rebrand and now this is the hd version :P
CenturyOldRat  [author] 9 Apr @ 12:33pm
well i supposed it worked for something hehe
Zenith 9 Apr @ 12:28pm
42.7 compressed the world map. 10234x8314 (173 mb) down to 5117x4157 (39 mb).
Your mod is now effectively an archive of the original insanely high res map.
Zenith 28 Feb @ 11:48pm
Thank you! I'll take care of it tomorrow n credit you accordingly.
CenturyOldRat  [author] 28 Feb @ 6:59pm
Do that if you want friend, im no longer interested in modding pz. You have my go ahead. Just credit me for the original idea in your mod.
Zenith 28 Feb @ 5:47pm
If this is abandoned, I'll go ahead and clean it up n publish mine.
Ulas 28 Feb @ 5:23pm
@Zenith this mod unfortunately seems like it has been abandoned, hopefully we get a similar mod that is optimized like u said, or one that replaces the ingame map which would be very cool
Zenith 28 Feb @ 3:54pm
Could you reference the original file in the mod instead of duplicating and including it with the mod? (Also should split 41 into a seperate mod) Would be much more reasonable for file size.

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3435976967 371.704 MB down to 3.3 MB

Can be achieved by using "media/maps/Muldraugh, KY/worldmap.png" instead of the texture being included with the mod. See line 328 in louisvilleandknoxcountrymapDefinition.lua

@Ricksdetrix Hey I'm having the same issue, was there a fix that you found?! or something?!:burosob:

funny_lil_dud 18 Jan @ 12:42pm
can you make this as the character map or mini map? this is such a cool map design.
TheKobold 10 Jan @ 12:38pm
I agree with Ulas. Thought the same thing when i first saw the new spawn picking map.
Moon-and-Star 4 Jan @ 3:48am
Thank you so much. Now I can disable the in-game map, use this one instead and get lost just like in Day-z!

Amazing mod, would it be possible to replace the current ingame minimap / world map with this image? I just think its a shame so much effort was put into it and we only ever see it when we choose the spawn selection.
Ricksdetrix 27 Dec, 2024 @ 6:55pm
Deon Nah I mean markings you add, so if I write 'Zombies here' and put a little arrow point to an area, you can't delete them if you do it on any map item. Seems to be a vanilla issue, you don't get the little preview of what you're placing either which is a bit annoying since if it doesn't place it where you want (cause you can't see where it's gonna go exactly) you can't even delete it
Deon ☣ 26 Dec, 2024 @ 1:09pm
Do you mean the markings that are literally baked into the picture, like town names? If so, they are not markings, they are just a background image.
Ricksdetrix 26 Dec, 2024 @ 12:59pm
Yeah, I had the eraser lmao, none of the ingame maps can be edited, only written/marked on. It's not your mod or anything, was just hoping you might have known a fix (unless it's working for you?) I can remove markings on the default map just fine, just the map items I can't edit (even with 0 mods enabled)
CenturyOldRat  [author] 26 Dec, 2024 @ 12:50pm
Not trying to insult your intelligence but have you tried erasing with a eraser? The game has crazy details like that haha. Abt the preview i don't know how to help sorry :( @ricksdetrix
Ricksdetrix 26 Dec, 2024 @ 12:41pm
Hey, this works great in b42, but I've noticed a bug (not caused by this mod, it's a vanilla bug) where ingame map items can't have their markings erased or moved, nor can you see a preview for what you're about to write down. Any idea if there's a fix for that?
Deon ☣ 24 Dec, 2024 @ 6:07pm
P.S. Any way to make a submod that requires your mod and overwrites your worldmap.png file?
Sadly simply making a mod with replacement PNG doesn't seem to work, so only copying the code makes it work.
Deon ☣ 24 Dec, 2024 @ 5:25pm
I am trying to translate the image during spawn selection. I've made a PNG with translation, but replacement of worldmap.png file in /media/maps/Muldraugh, KY/ doesn't do anything.

Have you figured out where in the game is the place to find the actual used file?

Thank you for the awesome mod.
Danny 23 Dec, 2024 @ 8:39am
Incredibly cool mod!
Mang 23 Dec, 2024 @ 7:03am

Space Donuts 22 Dec, 2024 @ 11:38pm
THIS IS AWESOME.. <3

I wish they used this map instead of the old one, and let us add like pictures of places we've been, and make use them camera junks in game.
CenturyOldRat  [author] 22 Dec, 2024 @ 8:31pm
i can sure try! :) im working on another mod rn but i will see to it (also trying to lower file size lol)
Mang 22 Dec, 2024 @ 8:17pm
could we get a submod or a sandbox option to configure the rarity of the map?
Mang 22 Dec, 2024 @ 9:26am
w modder
CenturyOldRat  [author] 22 Dec, 2024 @ 9:21am

tracked this down from that tiktok video. good work
CenturyOldRat  [author] 21 Dec, 2024 @ 10:56pm
Hi, it's not possible i think. They are different type of files, but i could look into it... What i could possibly do is make it unlock the whole map, but i dont like that idea. I like slowly discovering the map @samtaro
Samtaro 21 Dec, 2024 @ 2:57pm
Can you make this replace the in-game map somehow?
CenturyOldRat  [author] 21 Dec, 2024 @ 12:00pm
I figured out how to add the build 42 tag, thanks for the recommendation! @crimson
Crimson 21 Dec, 2024 @ 9:35am
Hey, thanks for this. Just wanna let you know that you should add the b42 tag so people can find your mod. :)
When it comes to the filesize issue I would suggest seperating both b41 and b42 into a different workshop upload.
CenturyOldRat  [author] 20 Dec, 2024 @ 11:05am
Well yes, i could compress the image but then it wouldn't be quite as detailed and in my opinion it would make using the map a worse experience. Also i could make two different mods, one for B41 and another for B42, instead a single one that works in both versions.
This is my first mod and i put the image in both B41 and B42 folder, idk if it's needed but that doubles the file size. I couldn't find a guide on how to mod B42 but if i do i may be able to lower the file size by only using one pic, something to keep in mind!
Doctor Nope 19 Dec, 2024 @ 11:32pm
right, i know none about modding, but is there a way not to make the size of the mod that big?
CenturyOldRat  [author] 19 Dec, 2024 @ 8:38pm
No, this map is separate from the world map. So no need to worry about the minimap :)
squid 19 Dec, 2024 @ 7:40pm
does viewing this unlock the entire minimap?? mm
Phade 19 Dec, 2024 @ 6:45pm
This is fantastic! thank you!
