No se lo que pasa pero cuando entro con ocupacion de VETERANO hace que igual aparesca el estresado cuando ya no debe de tener esa perk por defecto
jacek.machajewski 29 Jul @ 9:42am

Hey @Monkey I understand this is not a trait, but simply an opportunity to get rid of negative traits? To remove those: Cowardly, Agoraphobic, Claustrophobic, Hemophobic, Pacifist
+ i cant find those its moded traits?
Claustrophobic, Hemophobic, Pacifist

Hey like previous poster I did a fresh install of the game and the B42 version will not show up in my mod list.
Paraplegic Rabit 10 Jun @ 7:51pm
@Monkey

Mod used to work fine. Hit a deadend now. Subscribed to both become desensitized and become desensitized42.

Regular desensitized comes up on my mod list to enable but des42 doesn't show up to be anabled/disabled. In server settings, I can add des42 in mod workshop setting but in mod list setting it doesn't auto add nor give me an option to select it in mod list. (tried just copy pasting Mod ID in the mod list to add it but still won't work in-game. I'm over the maximum kill limit. Tried it with just regular become desensitized but won't work on my server.

I made sure both of them were in my workshop files in steam too. For some reason it won't recognize 42 as a mod.

Sorry. This mod removes only Agoraphobic, not Claustrophobic and Pacifist
Stocks_97 4 Jun @ 2:20am
@Monkey this mod doesn't remove Pacifist (aka Reluctant Fighter in B42), Agoraphobic and Claustrophobic traits. Can you fix it?

@mad-rooky if by working in the forest you mean cutting trees, then that comes from hitting a tree with an axe. It's probably too simulate anxiety for causing noise and attracting Zombies.
Ismællö 29 May @ 7:17am
In B42, the desensitized trait also comes with the downside of an increased chance of nightmares. Does gaining it with this mod mean our character will experience them more often too?
Eddy63 16 May @ 9:17am
do car kills count?
TsiAndrey 10 May @ 9:39am
In the sandbox settings (B42) this mod has question marks (????????????) instead of text. You need to convert files with Russian translation to UTF-8 format.
mad-rooky 8 May @ 9:14am
I also get stressed out working in the forest. I suspect the rustling in the greens causes this, but the area is clean of Zs.
mad-rooky 8 May @ 9:13am
Its really weird, now I get even stressed out by a group of 5 behind a door despite having the trait. But I don't have issues kiting a group of 50 in open space.
mad-rooky 1 May @ 10:45am
I have been using this mod for a long time and different builds. Now there is a weird thing, the claustrophobic trait is not being removed anymore, repeatedly in different playthroughs. I get desensitized and the other fears go away. During wake time there is no issue, but when sleeping my char is permanently nervous. I don't see any negative effects though. Just a weird glitch apparently.

Also I would like to make a suggestion, there could be levels of desensitisation. first toning down the original fear traits, then removing it, then becoming a bit bolder, and only then totally lose all fear. That way the process would be a bit more natural and set up in stages.

It does. Read #5 in description.
Goatroach 31 Mar @ 12:13pm
I really like how these mods can removes some other negative traits like cowardly, pacifist, etc.
It gives the player a hero arc, to start off as a terrified weakling, but through perseverance and sheer determination to survive, you can become the hero of the apocalypse. Very cool!
Goatroach 31 Mar @ 12:07pm
@RICKYTICKYTAFFY, I'm using both, too.
I suggest making both your brave values lower than your desensitized values.
Personally, I have brave min=50, max=100, and desensitized min=250, max 500.
As I understand it, "min" is where the mod will begin RNG to see if you acquire the trait.
If you hit "max," you're guaranteed the trait. The wider the gap, the more chances you don't get the trait after a kill at or above "min." If you effectively want to be guaranteed to get it after so many kills, you could do say, Brave min=100, max=101, desensitized min=250, max=251.

I agree with ajeezy1994 that it doesn't take much to overcome your fears, and not much more thereafter to become desensitized. I used to have a nasty flinch when shooting pistol IRL, but after a month of frequent training, maybe 400 shots in, my flinch was gone, and I don't even blink now when a gunshot goes off. Not quite the same thing, but similar concept.
ajeezy1994 28 Mar @ 2:53pm
@NiGhTBoX 500k is absolutely insane lol it doesn't even take soldiers in a war 100 kills to get desensitized
hAnJiL21 27 Mar @ 11:34pm
Ihave both brave and desensitized on, will I get both traits after set amount of kills or does this make whichever comes first the only trait I get
Zetacius 25 Mar @ 6:02am
I think they can adjust on their side of things no? 500K beyond is kind of ridiculous and unrealistic (my opinion) amount of zombies you'd have to kill for guaranteed desensitized
NiGhTBoX 24 Mar @ 9:11am
I apologize, I didn't specify too much on my last post. A very small section of players don't think 10k is rewarding enough to have desensitized. It would be great to have a settable number of maybe 500k beyond. Or would it be too unreasonable for other reasons?
Monkey  [author] 24 Mar @ 8:50am
NiGhTBoX read the description
NiGhTBoX 24 Mar @ 8:49am
Can we have an option where we can set the maximum amount of kills instead of just 2000?
Goatroach 22 Mar @ 11:50pm
@Ryu That's been happening to my Forest Ranger even without any traits that should affect panic. I have no idea what's causing it. I'm out in a cabin in the woods, and killed all zombies in the area. Really weird. I wonder if the devs implemented PTSD or something.
I'm hoping Become Brave or Become Desensitized fixes it. My guy also doesn't require water for some reason. Weird.
Izumi 20 Mar @ 3:26pm
It worked for me B42 default setting after about 1600 zombie kills.
✪ $iZzLer 27 Feb @ 11:15pm
doesn't work in b42
dddumb510 6 Feb @ 8:16pm
Anyone know if it still removes negative traits after they changed it so desensitized no longer fully removes panic?
Carlos 26 Jan @ 5:45pm
Just a rant. I think 1000-5000 zombies will desensitized most people. Still panic would happened when surrounded, even vets might get a little panicked when they're losing a battle.

War Fatigue (zomboid compliance even) is also a thing, it was discovered during WW2 squads that have survived several theaters of war had their battle effectiveness reduced and not increased the more battles fought after a certain amount of time. Compliance is even a thing in zomboid where players where a random zombie will end 6+ month run during gardening or looting without checking the room.
Ryu 25 Jan @ 2:03am
God the nerf to Desensitized absolutely sucks. Have fun waking up 5 days a week at 3am.

I thought Hemophobic said Homophobic lol
Rax Savvage 7 Jan @ 4:39pm
over here thinking this was a base game thing with ticks after 1800 or so to pop off
MichaelTheGreek 6 Jan @ 4:56am
does this work with B41
Monkey  [author] 6 Jan @ 4:31am
This mod doesn't even reference zombie entities. Your other mods are causing the issue.
Varlun 4 Jan @ 10:31am
Oh, it's also messing with all the zombie health. I noticed that a lot of the time when I was one-shotting zombies, they wouldn't even have 10 health. Most, but not all. Again, after removing this mod, health is back to normal.
Varlun 4 Jan @ 10:29am
In build 42.
Varlun 4 Jan @ 10:29am
Somehow, this mod is bugged. Definitely confirmed it's this mod, I uninstalled only this mod and it got rid of my problem. Zombies are showing red health bars above them, before you've even seen them. I don't know how this mod has anything to do with that but yeah.
mcJAGGER 3 Jan @ 7:11am
my character became idiot
BlankFX 2 Jan @ 10:08am
Thanks. Realized "-beta unstable" only patches to 41.78.16.
So I assume there is currently no way to use your Mod?
Monkey  [author] 2 Jan @ 9:53am
There's no dedicated servers for Build 42.
BlankFX 2 Jan @ 9:52am
ZomboidFileSystem.loadModAndRequired> required mod "BecomeDesensitized" not found.

Dedicated Server is on unstable, Ffolder "BecomeDesensitized" was properly placed to the mods-folder by steamcmd.

Can this mod have atleast 100k max kills?
Dersinho 29 Dec, 2024 @ 11:05am
xd
Monkey  [author] 28 Dec, 2024 @ 11:50am
Pushed update with some code cleanup. Might or might not solve the issue, as I couldn’t reproduce it and it works for me.
Sick Boy 28 Dec, 2024 @ 11:15am
This mod works for me.

Just as a warning now, Desensitized was nerfed recently in B42. It doesn't fully prevent panic from zombies now, it's just an 85% reduction (still major and effective), but you also have a higher chance of waking up from a nightmare. (It happens to me like 3 or 4 times a week.)
