I'll get to disassembly stuff when I get the motivation for it. I've got a whole lot going on with my gun mod still, and I've been mainly helping other modders through the past month.

Also this mod is going to get a Naginata update soon. A highly effective long spear that doesn't break in seven seconds. Stay tuned people!

do you plan on adding disassembly for your weapons? it didn't seem like i was able to before i died in my run.

It would be nice to be able to disassemble these weapons to swap handles/heads etc. like vanilla weapons can.

Also, another thing that seemed to have happened when i was playing was this.

When repairing a fiberglass axe, it does not repair the handle condition, or the head condition, the issue with this is that low head condition means low sharpness, which means more durability loss. This combined with the fact that you cannot replace the axe head, and that removing and repairing the handle with the fiberglass patching stuff isn't possible means that this weapon is not sustainable.

IMO, you should make the axe use the vanilla axe head, make the weapon capable of being disassembled, and add a repair option for just the fiberglass handle.

This way if you want to repair the axe, you have to disassemble it, repair/replace the axe handle or head, and reassemble.

I have returned!

Update 5 dropped!

-Added recipes for assembling all my weapons and tools. You can find fiberglass handles for the Fiberglass Axe and the Axe-Maul, and every tool and weapon that's in this mod is now possible to assemble after they break. This update had me write about 700-800 new lines of scripts and LUA along with new icon textures, so bear with the bugs if you find any. And as per Steam user timidr's suggestion, next up will be forging or blacksmithing my weapon parts. :)

@Rainmaker I don't know if it's planned, but I think it would be cool if we could be able to forge blades and heads for the modded weapons. Like being able to forge a sawback machete blade or bearded hatchet head would be awesome. Either way, thanks for all the work you put into these, love the mod!

Yeah I'll have to apologize, it's been months since I've even looked at melee weapon OnBreak LUA scripting.
I'm so much more into guns that I never break my melee weapons. :D
I'll try to get on all the issues now that it's June. Thank you for the comments and reports. :)

I just noticed something but I wonder if its just me. But for Axe (Fiberglass), I notice the Sharpness and Head Condition seems to always start out at like 60% green? Even for brand new ones that I've found. I've tried going into debug mode to repair it to see but while the handle can be fixed, the Head Condition is capped at 60%.

You can do this really, really easily for your local copy if you want. :D Scroll on over to the mod's folder in your steam/workshop and then down to 42 Rain's Axes & Blades\Contents\mods\B42 Rain's Axes & Blades\42\media\textures\weapons\1handed

Then open up the MacheteBush.png in Paint (yes, Paint) and color the handle red. Badabing, your bush machetes will have red handles. :D

No it isn't. You have some sort of mod conflict, and my guess is one of the many hotbar mods that still haven't been properly updated for B42's LUA. Some hotbar mods still use B41 LUA and they are simply broken.

Axe [fiberglass| is bugged. If you equip it it duplicate itself to your back, one in your hand and you cant use any of them, you cant even change it for another weapon. Solution is quit game and load save so you can atleast drop it to the ground.

Am i just an idiot for playing with too many mods? your weapons are spawning with reduced condition for me. every one that ive found has some missing. it might be because im playing with durable weapons and tools mod, but thats the only thing i can think of that would be conflicting

Update #4 dropped!

-Added a two-handed version of the Bush Machete, with increased range, damage and maximum hit count of 3.
-Added some missing tags to the Swiss Army Knife.
-Added a new Trait: Sword Enthusiast. "You collect and maintain swords on the regular." +1 Long Blade, +1 Maintenance. Thanks to Steam user 운빨좆망겜 for the suggestion!

The machetes, the new katana and the wakizashi all have the Sharpenable tag, so yes - you can sharpen them. Remember that you can't sharpen a weapon above its current Condition.

Had a, pretty sure it was a wakizashi, when it broke in a zombie it threw an error and the blade was a broken machete blade. Expected? Thanks.

I also gave my Katana the Sharpenable tag. But since this mod aims to only add new items, I won't edit the basegame Katana. You can add the Sharpenable tag to it at: Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid\media\scripts\items -> items_weapons_long_blade if you wish.

I'll get to all that OnBreak bullcrap some day. I just hate B42 lua with a passion, lol.

Axe-Mauls spawn in the same places as sledgehammers.

Yeah a tanto wouldn't be hard to add. I'll put that on the maybe list. :)

Incorrect. The vanilla katana also is missing its Sharpenable tag. Idk if that's on purpose but you can't sharpen 'em.

Yep, apparently you can't sharpen the vanilla katana either. You can fix it by adding Sharpenable to its Tags though.

this mod is actually really high quality but it appears everyone else is also having a problem with the sawback machete for me the sawback glitches around my characters hands whenever equipped it might have something to do with the 3d models attachment points but thats just a theory because i dont make models

Yeah something about the sawback's 3D model gets glitchy, but apparently simple exit to main menu -> load game fixes it pretty well.

hey there! i noticed the sawback machete turned invisible after equipping it for the second or third time. i had it on my belt. my character still used it like a machete and it worked on zombies, but it makes it hard to estimate reach.
