@biochemicks Late reply but imo it depends on what you're looking for. The Max Makes Mods version is serviceable for a VR port, there's no manual reloading or recoil but there's some basic interactions (pointing at a button and pressing trigger to interact for example). The upside with Max's mod is you're playing the actual Half-Life 1 game, whereas with this you're fighting antlions and combine soldiers placed where original Half-Life 1 enemies originally were. I prefer this experience personally, the polish of the HL2VR mod brings it home for me, but it'll be up to user preference.

This is pretty good so far (a couple of hours in). I'm using it with the Unleashed mod for better weapon handling and NPC tweaks. I've had no issues so far, but there is a chance of getting stuck if you try to manually crouch instead of button crouching in areas where you have to crouch.

Biochemicks ji haven't tried this version but I can say I've tried the VR mod you linked and it made me super nauseous and gave me a headache, which has not happened in any VR game to me in EONS.

HL2VR would certainly be the better way to play hl1 in vr, just going off of past experiences.

In the main menu of the game, click on Workshop, Browse Maps, and load -chapterselect. Then walk into the hallway or elevator you want. Sometimes it's necessary to press a button on the wall, like in the elevator to Office Complex.

how exactly are you supposed to start it? description says "chapter select map for new games" but hitting "new game" just gives the regular hl2ep2 chapters

It would be possible but I don't plan on doing it. Decompiling and editing Quake/Half-Life maps is much slower than Source maps. This port is based on Half-Life: Source so it went quickly except for building the Gargantua, Nihilanth and tentacles out of props and trains. I modified a few Quake and Opposing Force maps for Left 4 Dead 2, and just fixing the geometry took almost as long as this whole project.

amazing work my guy! Do you think it could be possible to port Blue Shift and Opposing Force like you did with HL1?
