Keen Cook
magnetstyle 27 May @ 6:35am
should make burger flipper 2 nimble because fast food
BakerBochMod 6 May @ 6:39am
Don't you know that your mod has reported error
SeleneSlade7 30 Apr @ 5:19pm
Bruh why'd you make the Burger Flipper profession worse than vanilla? Idk what McDonalds worker hurt you but I promise most cook's that wouldn't qualify as a Chef would still have plenty of cooking knowledge as well as the bare minimum +1 short blade and maintenance that you get in Vanilla, I genuinely don't know why you thought the profession needed even less to work with.
Stranded Reyiz 15 Mar @ 8:39am
I tried but it`s still doesnt work
Schutte  [author] 9 Mar @ 7:19am
@Stranded Reyiz Just load this mod last

Incompatible with Simple Overhaul: Traits and Occupations (SOTO)
Pslytely Psycho 31 Jan @ 3:57pm
Not all security guards work at night....Night Owl trait seems out of place.
Person Guy 30 Jan @ 5:58pm
wouldn't a fire officer be an ax-pert though? since he uses axes a lot and should be able to swing them fast?
leobet2me 29 Jan @ 8:10am
works with more traits etc mods ?
Slalt 27 Jan @ 5:06pm
I love the mod, I would only suggest a bit of balance ... Metalworker and Welder with -6, is a bit too much. Metalworker, crop farmer and veteran are way too good for their cost.
Lerekh 19 Jan @ 7:01pm
@watermelone Park ranger and Veteran 100%
watermelone 14 Jan @ 5:44am
to be fair not alot of professions use long blades , i mean maybe park ranger could use +1 in long blades , afterall he could chop long leaves and branches with machetes and all (although its a bit ridicilous)
ExtravagantBum 10 Jan @ 9:04am
And not a single point was given to Long Blades
Ata 9 Jan @ 3:17pm
I was waiting for mod like this
Emi Van Der Linde 5 Jan @ 9:34pm
hay para la build 41?
Schutte  [author] 29 Dec, 2024 @ 5:41am
I think i know why, your mod list for an old save is different to your currently loaded modlist, you have to specifically change the save's modlist if you want to change the mods on your existing saves.
Zaria - Chell 28 Dec, 2024 @ 8:01pm
SO after trying several things Including removing certain other mods and reordering etc. I got the mod to work but only if you are starting a new solo game It doesn't work if you kill your character and try to continue with new character. Just FYI
Zaria - Chell 28 Dec, 2024 @ 7:18pm
@Schutte Ty that worked. Well turning the other mods off I am about to try to rework them I am new to this game and mods so I have to figure out how to change the order.
60th_AxeHammer 28 Dec, 2024 @ 3:40pm
@Schutte Engineer is pretty good atm that was more for Electrician
60th_AxeHammer 28 Dec, 2024 @ 3:39pm
@Schutte for Engineer and Electrician I think both would need some welding and metalworking skills, not alot mind you. Imo I'm a fan of giving all professions at least one weapon proficiency bonus. I think both would benefit from short blunt, maybe electrician could have +1 short blade since they would be using a screwdriver alot.
Schutte  [author] 28 Dec, 2024 @ 3:22pm
The skills should show in the profession selection menu if you're running B42. If not one of your other mods might be overwriting it so try moving this mod to the bottom of your load order and see if that fixes it.
Zaria - Chell 28 Dec, 2024 @ 3:02pm
I can't get this to show in game. Mod is turned on (enabled) but they are there in the menu when i make a character. Am i missing something? Does it work when continuing?
Schutte  [author] 28 Dec, 2024 @ 2:53pm
Haha that's really interesting and I didn't know that :) how's about "a carpenter couldn't make a wooden wall?" instead
NeonScreams 28 Dec, 2024 @ 1:25pm
Schutte: Love the concept, love the implementation, love the profession changes!.. but.. "A carpenter couldn't make a barrel?" No, they could not. lol. (Blame "How-It's-Made" TV Show for me wasting our time right now. :deadrat: )

'Cooper's are the profession that make barrels. And it requires a very specialized knowledge and tool-set. (sry I'm like this)
Schutte  [author] 28 Dec, 2024 @ 5:15am
@Farkin that sounds very reasonable, but what skills do you think i should add to mechanic engineer and electrician?
Schutte  [author] 28 Dec, 2024 @ 5:14am
@Salty Butter I just checked myself and DR is 8 first aid, are you running B41? if so please use the B41 version of the mod in the description. Else I'll look into it.
60th_AxeHammer 28 Dec, 2024 @ 1:21am
I have a bit of a critique with Veteran, I think it makes more sense to give +1 spear to the crop farmer. My reasoning for this is that a farmer would need to stack hay far more than a veteran would need to use a bayonet or any other spear-like weapon. In 1993 and prior bayonet usage was very rare.

Also, considering now that Long Blade skill books are primarily found at military locations, I think replacing some of the Veterans skills for Long Blade makes more sense. Maybe instead of the trackin/spear/short blade skills they get more Long Blade.

Mechanic, Engineer and Electrician could also use an increase in skills to make it more comparable to the other professions.
sleepy 27 Dec, 2024 @ 7:53pm
@Salty Goober classic steam comment schizo poster lmao
Levi (λ) 27 Dec, 2024 @ 3:59pm
Also, the mod description is accurate and updated.
You don't need to run through every post Schutte has made to have your meltdown. Get a grip.
Levi (λ) 27 Dec, 2024 @ 3:53pm
@Salty Goober

...Server? ...Player complaints? ...in build 42?
Check your carbon monoxide detector.
Lil Beetle 27 Dec, 2024 @ 3:29pm
What was changed
Salty Butter 27 Dec, 2024 @ 3:02pm
also you could have put update notes in the change logs or you could have updated your description
Salty Butter 27 Dec, 2024 @ 3:01pm
instantly had to remove your mod from my server due to player complaints to your changes
DR now is only 3 first aid
kinda pissed me off after reading your description
Schutte  [author] 27 Dec, 2024 @ 2:29pm
I've updated a lot of the skills, let me know what you think!
Levi (λ) 26 Dec, 2024 @ 3:29pm
I think he meant heat as in temperature. Not burns.

I run the More Trait mod to make my heat sensitivity even worse lol, I'm an IRL woodworker, but I burn up in anything over 80*F, seems like a fair way to nerf my character in-game lol.
60th_AxeHammer 26 Dec, 2024 @ 1:51pm
Hm idk that seems a bit unrealistic, even though I've been working on it for so long burns still hurt like hell lol. If you know how to code for % succeeds you could give them a greater % to succeed in repairing blacksmith items.

Imo the best thing u could do would be to let them start with metalworking gloves or a leather apron because both of those are very important for safety.
Schutte  [author] 26 Dec, 2024 @ 9:42am
For sure, maybe even a heat tolerance perk?
60th_AxeHammer 25 Dec, 2024 @ 7:21pm
Blacksmith should have super high short blunt, strength and fitness imo. This is coming form a real life blacksmith haha
Schutte  [author] 25 Dec, 2024 @ 4:59am
@Pinky I agree, once I get to reworking the new B42 professions I’ll keep that in mind

@Levi When I get more time I’ll be reworking the weaker traits like keen cook to be stronger to reflect your character’s hobbies better (because +1 in cooking is not very useful) but I want to keep the professions as specific as possible to the actual profession’s skills so I don’t think I’ll give everyone general skills, after all some people are hopeless at cooking and I want to keep that possible in game

@HideoKuze I haven’t tried it myself but I see no reason for there to be a problem, all this mod does is edit the skills for each profession. If that mod also edits the professions then one would overwrite the other but otherwise it should be completely fine.
HideoKuze 25 Dec, 2024 @ 3:47am
Is this compatible with more Traits dynamic?
Levi (λ) 24 Dec, 2024 @ 9:54pm
Thank you, makes the game bearable again.

Would love a version that has a few levels in every skill, adjusted however broadly you can assume the characters interests.

Like, if you're a professional adult in any field...you probably know how to cook some food for yourself at the end of the day...
Pinky 24 Dec, 2024 @ 8:43pm
Blacksmith should (in my personal opinion) 100% have a little strength and MOST importantly mechanics added. After all they would have to constantly maintain and service their equipment, I know that would also fall under maintenance but there's a difference between oiling some cogs and dissembling machinery for the sake of swapping a worn pulley
Schutte  [author] 24 Dec, 2024 @ 6:50pm
You're right, that's a really good idea
P01!8!U5 24 Dec, 2024 @ 6:44pm
Shouldn't veteran have some sort of spear skill due to bayonets? Also thank you, this mod is very necessary for my enjoyment of this game.
Schutte  [author] 24 Dec, 2024 @ 11:26am
I actually didn’t even know there was a masonry skill, so I’ll add that when I get time. Any other suggestions?
The Stoneaxe 24 Dec, 2024 @ 11:18am
why does construction worker not have masonry
ZeT么 24 Dec, 2024 @ 8:36am
ty ty soooo much for this
plytz 24 Dec, 2024 @ 8:12am
Game is now playable thank you.
