@xf100t you didn't read the description but it is my fault also i wasn't as detailed as needed. I updated the description. It is working as intented but i updated the description to help you or anyone else with this "problem"

Sorry, clarification: when you look at the halo beam weapon, which I assume is the plasma tier weapon that should unlock for boltcasters, it is greyed out for all my soldiers with the error "missing allowed class", when that soldier can select the normal boltcaster. Please fix when you can, it looks really cool when it works.

It seems like the halo beam rifle is set up incorrectly, both in your config and in game. It just says "missing class" ingame. Can you please fix? It looks like all of the config information that is available for all the other weapons is missing from this one.

So i took a look and there are some problems with that idea. I could hide it and add it as loot (even nerf it cause it's OP) but then you would not get it after winning the ruler. Unless you think i should leave it alone and just add it also in the loot tables? It would be OP. I mean it is already OP and it would get upgrades. Even if i restrict it to legendary boxes it would be broken. So tell me what you think.

This mod currently has 1 conventional, 1 magnetic and 2 beam boltcasters I am hoping to add more but i am kinda wasted at the moment probably tommorow i will look to add more. I think they are some good candidates in some mass effect mods.

say if i were to run no mods that changes the boltcaster into its own "boltcaster" category, i could just do it myself using wsr right?
like putting this in the XComWeaponSkinReplacer.ini

@dawrongame yes i will be using some bolt actions as templates. Also the No land beyond is that exactly a long bolt action sniper.

@death viper Tuskov already does that also i think tedster does in lwotc. Check out tuskov's 9 tier weapon tech mod. Looking at the ini's you will get some ideas. Also you can message in discord or more so people in the modding xcom2 discord. But keep in mind you will then have to add to all classes you need to use the "battlerifle" category as usable by them.

Well if I can make a suggestion if you want to give it its own category about using a real life weapon type like the single bolt action rifle ?

To me it makes sense as its pretty much what a bolt caster is.

What weapon cat do you set your boltcaster to? Ive been thinking about tinkering with that for some of these ghost template weapons... Like making a "battle rifle" category for some of the halo weapons and give them their own custom stats vs assault rifles etc
