Thanks! I've decided on giving everything a look-over before adding Native Americans. Getting out the rough edges before adding more.
I think the easiest but most exhausting way would be to create a lot of ethnicities with faces that look okay and have slight built in variation to them. But as I said, that would be a lot of work.
I think hair, skin and eye colors already make a huge difference for Europeans though. Like Nordic people having more blonde hair, etc.
Yeah, I also was thinking about how to add more diversity without it making combinations that look uncanny.
But you got a good point, I'll try to revise the facial diversity. I was a minor debate i was having, but figured actually finishing the rest of the world was more important at the time.
(Also, the waluigi thing is because Mediterranean was the first one I made. I had limited experience with the portrait editor beforehand, so they ended up kinda funky looking lol)
I think you might have limited variety too much in you ethnicities which leads to people looking very similar in one ehtnicity template. I think it might be better to add more variety in the genes like vanilla does it.
Another cool thin that I just tested with Morgenröte is to also add ethnicities to limit facial hair. E.g. I added one ethnicity without facial hair, one with shorter beards and one with bigger beards to the alemannic culture to basically repreduce the people living on the countryside as well as the people living in the cities. And to not get weird combinations like a huge beard without a mustache, etc.
They sound like those racist trolls who would false flag as another culture just to make that culture look bad (making unsubstantiated accusations against the modder, cultural gatekeeping and saying Europeans are effectively one ethnic group should clue everyone in)
Anyway, I understand the mod creator will choose to inaccurately generalise Africa and Asia and focus on Europe.
A generalisation unless it's Europe, where you've somehow created multiple phenotypes in Western Europe, when there are obviously far, far more phenotypes in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Also, I have already stated this mod is a huge generalization, because if it wasn't I'd be working on this forever
Secondly, I seriously doubt you'd be able to even accurately complete 1 country in Sub-Saharan Africa correctly in a "couple days". The Old World is Afro-Eurasia.
On a more serious note, great mod! Does it conflict with any other mods (like say clothing mods)?
then you've got the Somalis in eastern Ethiopia with dark skin or (sometimes) golden brown skin, thin small noses, medium lips and wavy/lightly curly hair,
then you go to southern Ethiopia like the Mursi with dark skin, wide noses, full lips and Afro-textured hair
And that's 1 country in Africa.
Ethiopia has almost as many official ethnicities (over 80) as the whole EU (87)
If they tried to add enough accurate phenotypes, there'd be more in Africa than anywhere else
